We wouldn't be able to trade for Chandler because he's an unrestricted free agent (technically I think he could still be used in a sign-and-trade, but why would he sign with a team that he knows is going to trade him immediately?).

Why would Dallas want to trade Chandler, and why would Chandler want to leave Dallas and play with us.
Odds of that happening are 0%

Well this draft is starting to look crappier every night, Sullinger promises to not declare, and Barnes wanting a National Title before he comes?? are these kids crazy? I know the pay cut from college to the pros sucks, but still...

The NBA cheerleaders can't compete with all those horny college girls... that's my theory anyways.

I've been a jock and I've been a math-lete, cheerleaders can't hold a candle to freaky nerd chicks. But yeah, I see your point. the "big-man-on-campus" feeling goes away and they don't hold the same clout with women off campus.

Re: Prospect Watch Thread
If Irving, Barnes, Sullinger all stay in school, that makes Perry Jones the number one pick then D-Will prolly the number 2 (or vise versa). So if we get 3rd-5th pick, It's Kanter, Jonas V, or even Kemba Walker could move up. I'd trade our pick if the top prospects all stay.

Re: Prospect Watch Thread
Tyler Zeller consistently beats his guys down court and has incredible hands. If you want to run, he's definitely a guy you want to look at as a backup center.
Jon Henson has some big flaws, but everytime I watch him he's making a huge impact defensively. He's got KG-like defensive potential.

For this team I actually like the versatility Vucevic brings over Zeller's hustle.

I'm not sure why you quoted me since I agreed with what you're saying, but to play devil's advocate, 1) they couldn't trade him even if they wanted to because he's an UFA, and 2) if we could clear out Webster's, Darko's, and Pek's salaries using our pick or Rubio, then we could offer him way more money than Dallas.

Derrick Williams is making me a believer. He just elevates his game when it matters.

Re: Prospect Watch Thread
Where will Williams play? I doubt he's better than Beas. I say draft Barnes and run away.

Re: Prospect Watch Thread
Williams would be a tough fit for the Wolves...I think he's definitely better in traffic than Beasley, though Beasley is the more gifted shooter. I think he'll be a more consistent player than Beasley. I don't know if the Wolves should draft him, but I think he's going to be a force.

Re: Prospect Watch Thread
Well Arizona just lost, so he better not pull Sullinger and want to fight for a championship next year in school. This draft HAS to have D-Will, especially if guys like Sullinger, Barnes, Irving all decide to stay another year.

Re: Prospect Watch Thread
I'm surprised that DWilliams didn't drive on that last play for the tie...
I think that Sullingern will probably be the exception out of that group...being a high draft pick still has value even with the looming lockout, and I think once this crop starts talking to agents and then start doing the math on what a significant injury could do to their draft stock they'll come around...hopefully.
As someone who has been in college for 8 years I can appreciate the desire to continue education and live the college life, but at some point the economics of being a professional athlete have to be addressed. You can take classes in the summer.

Re: Prospect Watch Thread
Yeah, maybe one other, but I'm betting most of the rest of them declare. Williams almost certainly will. He just doesn't have anything more to learn in college. Except not to shoot a three pointer when it's a two point game.
Irving is too close to being a number one pick, Barnes still hasn't not won a championship and Walker looks like he's ready to lead a fast break right to David Stern on draft night. They'll come out.
The wild cards are Valenciunas and Kanter. Who knows where they'll get picked?
