I think it's a mistake for him to stay in school though. My guess is that he'll show little improvement next year (he's already so polished) and he'll end up dropping some in the next draft.

Yup, Barnes/Irving/Sullinger all staying in school will cost them millions. They have holes in their game that just aren't going to be fixed with more time in college...Barnes(Unathletic), Irving(lacks quickness), Sully(height). All of them are projected top 6ish. Their stars will fade with the next wave of freshman. If Terrance Morris taught us anything it's that you gotta cash in while you can.

A guy I met back in the day, Albert King, made a similar mistake staying that extra year. no D, I agree they're making a financial mistake and probably won't get that much better.

One guy, Henson, seems to me would really improve with one more year, but he better not leave today's money on the table, either. Only if you've got it like Tebow did coming back should you stay IMO. Love of school can change with an NCAA probation, a coach getting fired, or some kind of injury/catastrophe a la Hank Gathers.

I'd only say it's a leap of faith to say you want that final year. Sullinger loves school so let him stay, but he better be able to accept whatever happens. What I ALWAYS see is what happened to Kyle Singler (and to Albert). Familiarity breeds contempt. Draft sites get to know a player's weakness and they always seem to like flavor-of-the month/johnny-come-lately freshman more than seniors. Makes NO SENSE to me, other than perceptions of upside improvements. However, when guys like Faried and Singler stay, even if they have great seasons and their teams advance their draft stock stays where it is.

I woud think Jenkins and JaJuan Johnson will be like Booker--ready for the NBA, but they won't likely luck out and get picked round one.

If Sullinger stays it's almost certain to cost him millions as he sinks in the draft, and as he doesn't make this year's money. Kobe's rich a zillion times over and he came in at 18.

Jeremy Tyler should be given some 2nd round consideration. He's got good size for the 4 and I think could turn out to be a real gem.

nbadraft.net doesn't take into account team needs until after the season is over. They've had Williams ranked #1 all season long.

So which one is usually good. All of them still have Sully in it.

Yeah well, Sullinger has to officially not hire an agent, etc etc. It's a process, and him not coming out absolutely affects things because the draft gets even weaker.

Tristan Thompson is going pro, so much for saying he's coming back.

The only guys considering coming back should be high upside players that disappointed like Perry Jones. Sullinger said he has things to work on but I doubt he will grow, become super athletic, or gain a 3pt shot. I also hate Ohio St.

Oh, and why did Perry Jones go to Baylor in the first place? I'm sure when they recruited him they mentioned how they wanted to use him. Seems like poor decision making. Considering he's the biggest recruit they've ever had til this year, I wouldn't be surprised if something shady went down. Clearly he didn't choose them because it was the best fit.

I heard on sports radio today a reason Sullinger and others might be returning to school instead of testing the NBA draft, is because they fear a work stoppage might delay or even cancel the NBA season.

Nikola Vucevic declared. Great big guy out of USC. I've seen him. He's a slightly less aggressive Zaza Pachulia. Probably will sit on a bench for many years in the NBA with his size and build.

read the ny times article it explains alot. kid has loyalty and that may have cost him. loyal to aau coach and baylor. visited baylor when younger and decided he will join the baylor family despite big programs calling him. i don't particurlarly like his playing situations and how he has been used. also there is a part which is his lack of aggresiveness. he put up good numbers in a bad situation which is a testament to his potential.

i obviously like kanter and dwill who are winners but i don't want to dismiss perry. alot depends on the lotto. there are teams with multiple lotto picks. also depends on who declares. we may not be in dwill range, players may not declare, multiple pick teams cleveland and utah might pass on irving to get knight who will be a good pro. then what?

And it's a mystery why they didn't include this highlight.

Might not be all bad? That's a prime trade scenario. What would Sacto, or Cleveland, or Toronto, or somebody else give up for Irving?
