As much as I like Nash, I'd be absolutely furious if we trade our pick for him. He's nearly 40 years old; he's going to slow down dramatically any year now.

He turned 37 in February and has one year left on his deal.

I'd give up the MEM pick. Don't care how old he is, it would be a once in a lifetime opportunity to have him take our PG of the future under his wing.

I'd give up one of the later 1sts, too, but giving up a top 5 pick for Nash at this point would be silly.

edit:

37 is nearly 40 and is only 2 years younger than Shaq. Shaq! Also him having one year left on his deal makes it an even worse trade. Moving a top 5 pick for a one year rental would be terrible for anyone, but especially so for a team with as many holes in it as ours.

I would certainly offer the Utah or Memphis first along with Webster, and either Flynn or Ridnour for him. His game is based on brains and skill, not physical ability. He is still playing great ball, for 25 minutes a night I don't think we'd have anything to complain about. He would be an outstanding example for Rubio as well.

We won't have our pick next year anyway, 2012 is the time to try and get some wins, and secure Kahn and Rambis their contract extensions. I don't doubt that is going through Kahn's head. None of the draft prospects look like future superstars, a few could be solid players, like Irving and Williams, but Nash, Iggy, Bogut, etc., are way more sure things than anyone we could draft.

That offer's not going to get it done.

Yep...

I honestly don't see anyone in this draft as an upgrade in potential over what we already have. Maybe Williams over Beasley, maybe. Wes over Barnes, Randolph over P. Jones, Rubio over Irving...

I'd rather we trade for a proven older guy. Then maybe Valanciunas or Vesely with the later pick if either is there.

I have trouble envisioning him in our team. Same goes for Barnes, Williams, Sullinger and the other Jones. Are they really better than Michael Beasley?

Half of these guys are tweeners just like Beasley and the other half are guys who I don't see being much better than Beasley. If Beasley can do what he did at the beginning of the season on a regular basis then I might actually think none of them will turn out better. :dontknow:

Right now, I honestly have no clue who we should pick. if we don't get the No. 1 overall pick.
Probably just go BPA and figure out later. If it's a SF so be it.

he's doing it to Harrellson some too. That being said, I like Zeller's size, but I'd actually be positively giddy at the idea of having Harrellson on the roster as Bill Laimbeer's special project.

Wolves have been needing an annoying hustle guy ever since Mad Dog left. Plus he's got attitude and he's big too, I can just picture that guy being a local fan favorite and public enemy #1 for all opposing fans.

So whos the Calipari PG that will be in the 2012 Draft?

Rose, Evans, Wall, and now Knight

I still don't understand all the love for Barnes around here (especially combined with the "hate" for Beasley), and I doubt I ever will.

Marquis Teague brother of Jeff, number 1 HS PG prospect right now committed to UK, never seen him play so i don't know if he is a one done guy but seeing the history of the coach I think so.

I can definitely see that, and that's a big part of why I wouldn't be too excited to draft him top 5.

i know what you mean but you can't really hope for a whole lot better in a weak draft like this, and the kid's only 18 so he has a lot of room to grow, deng is a very good player and if barnes could be that kind of player it'd help us a lot and who knows he could become a paul pierce like player.

Beasley's defense/shot selection/turnovers/Low Iq have taken a toll on me. I think he may have upped his value to where we could get something for him, and then take Barnes with our pick. I wonder what Milwaukee would want for Bogut, or Portland for Oden in a S&T.

Hopefully we can find a deal with Flynn/Beas/Memphis or Utah 1st/maybe even Darko to get a center.

Was this your last game? “I’m not thinking about the NBA,” (Harrison Barnes) said, quietly. Do you know what you’re doing next year? “You know, that’s not really something that I’m thinking about. I had the last two seasons end on championships (at Ames). The last time I felt like this was my sophomore year (of high school). That’s the only thing that’s on my mind right now.”
