He's been playing great defense and other than turning the ball over a couple times he's been very effective this game.

Knight has been playing better but its not like they are playing head-to-head.

Barnes has to play against Tjones who is a solid big defender whereas Knight has been playing against Dexter Strickland who im not at all a fan of.

Honestly, I've been watching Barnes the whole time and his D hasn't been that great.

Maybe you're watching a different game then me.. he's consistently boxing out/crashing boards, and I haven't seen Liggins Miller or Jones blow by him once

I sure saw him jump on pump fakes, over-help and leave his man open etc. I like his man-to-man D but I think his help D is overrated. Besides, how many times this year has Barnes even defended legit NBA SF prospect? Hell there's not a great SF available other than him in this draft.

Dude, its pointless to argue with these people so don't bother anyways. This game is an advantage for them to praise Knight and rip the other prospects that are playing in this game match up. Just save your breathe.

Knight would be a fantastic PG to start building a future with. He can and will be a game impacting pointguard a the next level. An excellent two way player, who is so young and already dominating the best NCAA competition. Drafting Knight would solidify the PG position for the raptors for the next decade.

Knight keeps growing on me so I'm pushing him up a spot:

Irving
Barnes
Knight
P Jones
Val

question for everyone.

- Barnes
- Knight
- Walker
- Kanter

are all on the board, Raptors are on the clock picking #4 (Irving went #1, Val (MIN) #2 and D.Williams #3). Or P.Jones went to one of those teams. Who do you pick?

I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

Knight easily . Greater drive, desire, potential, plays a position of greater importance, younger, bigger clutch factor, Knight has a chance to dominate his position in the NBA. I do not see Barnes with the same probability of dominating his position.

I like Barnes at 5, but my biggest knock on him is that he's not even the top 2 player on his team. How people see him as the #2 pick overall, I don't know

this board is so reactionary, its amazing. Especially because some people watch a lot of games all year and understand the context of whats going on, but these posts are completely out numbered by the rest.

I feel bad for the Barnes supporters because they are in a no-win situation right now.

but im still serious about what I said before.

With a lockout, why shouldnt these players declare without an agent and go back to college for the year. I think it would be great for players who want to stay who's stock is at an all time high, and the teams still draft who they want.

When do players normally sign their contracts by?

word I'd probably swap Kanter and Val

But the more I think about having an all-white front court the more I cringe.

Knight is looking solid so far. He's the second best PG in this draft IMOP. It will be great if Kentucky can hold on and win this to go on to face UCon. Knight vs. Walker would be a great showdown. Not that impressed with Barnes this game. I like P. Jones and D. Will over him right now. Theres still an entire second half to go so hopefully he can step up and show us what he's got.

haha  same as ppl saying how DWill can't play 3 and has to play 4. I think his athleticism and smarts can definitely allow him to play 3 at the NBA level. I think of him as a power version of Shawn Marion at the 3.

Maybe I'm a little optimistic but I think JJ is looking like an adequate starting SF. When he gets his shot back, he said he had it, I don't think our SF position needs as much of an improvement as the PG. So I don't think Barnes should be as high on our draft board as he was in the beginning of our season. I mean he hasn't even shown he's the best player available if Knight, Walker, Williams and Jones are still there.

Barnes is the 4th most important player on his college team. However, this means absolutely nothing in terms of how he ranks as an nba prospect.

Most picks get signed in July/August unless you're in Memphis.

Don't let the hype get you guys. Watch the game and trust what you see.

I've been big on Knight all year. He's really improved his ball handling and floor game over the course of the season. Barnes' ceiling will be determined by how much he improves his handle.

That's exactly what he reminds me of. I think his passing game is better than Rondo's when he was at Kentucky.
