George HIll? Well for one Knight is a true PG.

Both around 6'4"-6'5" and shoot the 3 well. Like I said, it's a mental block. I need someone to explain why his ceiling is higher than a Jrue Holiday for example. What's Brandon Knights celing? Why?

Barnes: RealGm draft thread has a bunch of haters

Who is hating on him? All I see are people posting realistic assessment about his game.

Oh please.

Yeah, and plus, I think the SF depth in next year's draft is flat-out better than this year's draft. After Barnes and Williams (who some say is a 4), who else is there?

Or we could always wait until 2013 where right now the top 4 prospects and 5 of the top 10 are C's....Andre Drummond is even being hyped as Dwight Howard 2 :D

Barnes apparently crying in the locker room.

2 expiring vets that help now. A young big to add to the Scottie timeline
I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

Chad Ford:

Harrison Barnes playing like a No. 1 pick right now. Maybe draft isn't as bad as we've been making it out to be.

I'm not the best guy to answer this because I have seen limited games of his. From what I have seen I'd say he is a better distributer and floor general than Hill for sure and probably Holiday too. Anyways, I would be happy with Jrue Holiday on this team too.

Rhettmatic wrote:I still don't love Knight's offensive game, but given his apparently amazing work ethic, his physical profile, his defensive ability and his age, I would have no problem drafting him really high in this putrid draft. There's bust potential, sure, but he has a pretty high ceiling.

His speed, age, 3pt range, transition game, fearlessness and leadership are all strengths. I'm not so sure about his handle and his ability to pass the ball accurately while utilizing his speed.

Still like you said this is shaping up to being an awful little draft and his ceiling is pretty high.

Is that guy serious? He played them out of that game. UNC needed to work it in the low post to the big guys. They got away from that in the last 5 minutes. Barnes trying to be the hero and failing miserably.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

Magic "THE DUNK CONTEST IS BACK" Johnson has been known to get a little overzealous at times.

He probably tweeted that right after the 50 seconds (?) span that brought all the Barnes fans back online

If a guy who is arguably the best PG in the history of the game likes a PG prospect I would at least be comfortable with that player on my team.

Don't get me wrong, I actually like him as a dark horse for our pick, and think he has some nice PG potential as a pick and roll player, but right now he is far from being a true, or pure PG. He has the potential to be a good PG I think, but in terms of being a natural floor general who probes and initiates, that's not him. Jrue Holiday is a realistic description of the kind of distributor he could develop into.

What are some of the things the "haters" are being unrealistic about?
Hell, Derrick Williams had a better tournament and season than Barnes did, and he got blasted for taking some threes. This is nothing especially considering Barnes has been inconsistent the whole season

Ugh this love for Barnes reminds me of the love for Bargnani. Nobody has said he's a going to be a bad player. We are just commenting on what he's shown on the college level and he hasn't shown the ability to takeover a game consistently.

I find it humurous, because most of them have no idea what they're talking about.

It's a basketball thread, yet most of them come across as having little understanding of the game of basketball, or the concepts that are incorporated with it.
