Now ask yourself is it the coach or is it the system?

I think this was meant for playbook illiterate fans like myself. I wasn't aware of how many options there were in the triangle. Also wasn't aware how often Kobe left the offense to go rouge.

Camby...WOW

there's 131 sets according to the guy who made this thing, but i'm convinced there are more (ie. infinite possibilities). [credit: Wilt from lakersground.net]

Neither was I. I though I had a grasp of the Triangle, but to see it diagrammed out with actual plays is fascinating. I want to learn more, and I want to see more of it in the League

While you can always pick and choose plays to make a coach look bad or look great I agree that VDN is a terrible offensive coach. He was saved in Chicago by mad hustle guys like Noah and shooters like Gordon and Salmons having great contract years.

Here is a good point a view of how the Triangle is supposed to be played. Notice the movement and cutters/center

with the LAKERs, you just have to take away 1 thing. like the interior play for example. everyone crash inside. if the LAKERs hit deadly from the outside, your dead. but so be it. no way you take away all of the options unless you have superior talent that can D-up at all positions, but even then, phil makes the adjustments and another option pops up that confuses a defense. so its pretty much pick your poison and see you next season, because no way the LAKERs offense gets totally stopped in a 7gamer.
