I don't think Phil realizes we signed him either to be honest so you aren't the only one

Lakers have 4 second round picks this year. Wish we could trade all for a lottery type player. Do not see the Lakers keeping all 4 next year. That would be 6 second round picks last year and this year. Now that is just nuts.

Wow dude serious? He only been here for like Months!

I was looking at the draft board supposedly the Lakers are shown to be looking at some nice talent. Any chance of them actually drafting with some of those picks?

I think they'll keep at least 1, there is a high chance Brown is gone for more money elsewhere and our PG rotation still suck....be nice if we do keep the Triange if we can get a combo guard out of the highest 2nd pick.

The whole point of giving up the 1st rounder is to avoid having to pay the rookie scale K for what'll be a late 1st round pick, thus, LA gave up their pick in exchange for an early 2nd rounder in the GS pick they acquired in the deal.

Another good thing is that next years' draft is going to be extremely watered down with most players sticking to college with the confusion over the CBA.

If we can swing a deal for a mid first rounder in 2012 draft, we might get ourselves a nice player.

I'm really interested in seeing what direction LA goes in with the upcoming draft. We already have two really solid prospects in Ebanks and Caracter, both of whom Phil seems to forget exist at times (at least he has an excuse for not playing Ebanks lately due to Devin's injury) so I'm curious to see where LA places its priorities this year. I'm assuming a few of their picks will be sold for cash but it'd be nice if LA could at least come away with a quick, athletic guard who can score off the bench (but isn't (Please Use More Appropriate Word) like Shannon) or perhaps another young big.

I really thought Smith was going to have a bigger impact as a reserve. Thought he was going to provide at least 10 minutes a game of quality backup play.
