Wiz to change uniforms in 2010-2011!

I like the direction of the new logo look but loose the old bearded dude

I like a strong logo like the bulls. Some thing like that mid court look bad ass

But the whole wizard motif doesn't work as well as a bull
It's more trickery them tough.
The magic to ok with their logo

I say until they toughen up more the go with
Washington blossoms

Washington is kind of a hard area to come up with a good name since the good names are taken and the remaining identity is all about government which not many like.

The Cherry Blossoms one of the positive Washington things.
Capitols is taken
Senators is congress. Who really wants to think of that and besides. Taken
Monuments is just gay
The museums doesn't work.
Presidents sucks.
Freedom is quint
Power could work. I dont know. The Washington Power. It is strong at least. No idea what the logo would be though.

We really don't have a good animal to do it with. Rock Fish, Crabs

The Washington Crabs. They really get in your pants.

If we were a good defensive team.

They have the Ocean and the Tidal basin. The Washington Tide could work. Lots of good sound effects for that. Storm sounds. Waves crashing.

Here comes the Tide making a run.

We do get some interesting weather and nice storms. That is a play of of the Tide thing. That could work.

So three that could work are.
Washington Power
Washington Storm
Washington Tide.

I do like the Mystics colour scheme. That supposedly 'leaked' new logo on that jacket actually looked like someone re-coloured it with the Mystic's colours in 2 minutes using MSPaint. So the chances of the Wiz adopting that colour scheme next year are pretty good imo. Theres enough evidence to back up the conclusion, anyway.

I'd just like to see either a new logo, or someone with actual talent do a re-colour of one of our existing logos and use it as a main.

I like that re-design of the logo a few pages back. I also like the logo of the Dakota Wizards. I mean, if we are going to feature a wizard, we could at least have a mean-looking mother f'er. As for other ideas, I still like the dc secondary logo that looks like a crescent moon. they could do some kind of crescent moon/basketball design. But it may turn out looking more like the symbol of Islam, that would go down well in the capital of the USA...

Its a shame the Magic use stars in their design. If we had anything star-heavy it would look too similar.

I rather like the Sixers' unis. I'm a fan of the recent trend of one-color numbers (sans outline), as seen w/ the Sixers and the Jazz. Simple and crisp.

The Pistons' unis are a nice reimagination of their Bad Boys-era kits, and were a vast improvement over their teal '90s Grant Hill/Allan Houston-era kits when they were first introduced. They're a little stale now, though.

The Hawks' unis are average. In particular, I'm surprised that they went w/ a R/W/B scheme. Yeah, they've rocked red and light blue - for like one season back in 1969. In comparison, they had a strong red/yellow identity for most of the 70s, 80s, 90s, and 00s; I didn't understand why they felt it was a good idea to abandon that history.

I'm surprised more isn't being made of this. Maybe it's common knowledge, but I haven't heard anything about the Mystics switch to R,W,B... I just happened across it, no mention I've seen about it on the Washington Post M.Lee site. It's pretty sharp! Basically they just swapped out the tan (or bronze?) for red. It actually is R,W,B & Gray, and I like the darker navy blue.

But to me it pretty much confirms that "leaked" jacket, that they will keep the same logo and recolor it Red, White & Blue.

Funny you should mention the Hawks as I was thinking about this just this weekend. A few years ago, I went to the last game of the season at Phillips. Inside the arena, all of the merchandise (red + yellow) was 50% off, so I got a few things for the kids - plush basketballs, hats, etc. Sure enough, that summer they announced that they were changing logos, moving to the red & blue. (Their logo & scheme are kinda boring, if you ask me.)

My son was wearing his (red + yellow) Hawks cap this week and I told him about how I got it, and how teams change their logos, and a lesson on economics as to why the team was selling it at half price. And of course, how that can be an indication that a change is coming, when the team is trying to unload merchandise.

Point is, anyone going to the last game - take a look and see if the Wiz are offering a huge discount on unis, hats, etc. Then you'll know the change is coming sooner rather than later.

And then there was the time I was at the last game of the season at the phone booth and the Wiz were giving away every last Stackhouse bobblehead. I guess you can figure out what happened next.

No need to wait, I got an email about a week or so from Wiz Guest Services ago that was pretty obvious of their color/logo plans. "Buy One Get One FREE on All Wizards merchandise", "Buy One Get Two FREE for Wizards Headwear".

Arenas t-shirts were on sale for $5 at the store in the VZ center. really, they should probably give them to the homeless. i doubt anyone would even pay $5 for an arenas t-shirt.

Ive seen a re-colour of the current Hawks get-up in Red and White. It looks 100% better than their current uni's. Actually, dont they have a red/white alt. uni this year? It should become their main imo.

I actually forgot about the Hawks, if we adopt the colour scheme of the Mystics, we would look similar colour wise. I hope the Hawks change back before then, or we find a way to seperate ourselves with 3rd and 4th colours in the mix. Im not a fan of loads of colours though. I do like the Jazz uni's, but i think teams should be limited to two or three colours, with the fourth always being white. Look at the 2 colour uni's of the Spurs, Bulls, Celtics etc. Iconic.

Speaking of birds of prey; The Washington Eagles. Eagles = America, thats recognizable worldwide.

My other ideas are The Washington Non-Lethal Projectiles and for Nate; The Washington Anti-Tank Ordinance.
