Wallace hit a ton of shots that were well defended IMO, so the defense was probably better than what the DRTG indicates.

Thank god for Ibaka/Perkins for hitting the boards. Wallace was on fire...

DRTG was actually 106.3 which is good but not that great. They held Portland to a horrible shooting percentage, but gave up offensive boards, sent them to the line a lot and didn't turn them over.

I think if you break it down by quarter, our defense was great for 1,2,4. But terrible in the 3rd. I dunno if we were just lazy, or Portland really took it to us, but it again brings up that lack of killer instinct.

KD had a terrible offensive game, but a great defensive one.

Pop will eat the Thunder's offense in late game for breakfast in the playoffs.

if it's just a quarter it's probably a combination of Portland stepping up and we were unable to match.
Surprising that we were outscored that quarter though.

That's actually one of the reasons I don't come around as much. This team keeps winning but people keep complaining to the point that it's nauseating.

Sometimes I even wonder if people enjoy following the team? Sure guys make mistakes or miss an open cutter and are getting crushed for it.

The team is still terribly young but they are having great success, those two typically don't go hand in hand.

Enjoy what you have now because at some point this team will suck arse again, and trust me it's no fun to watch a team suck balls for a decade.

Quite easy to tell: "he's so good", when you look outside and don't really want his best just like his fans does.

actually nobody wants to see Russ or the Thunder team as a whole at its best anymore than i do.. but i feel like Russ gets unfairly picked on here.. when KD gets man handled by Ron Artest he gets a free pass for it.. Russ takes too many shots yall kill him.. this team is young they will make mistakes and they are not as smart as a veteran team yet and its understandable cause they are so damn young.. but i still feel the majority of this board gives KD a free pass and rides Russ on all his faults and it kinda pisses me off

I don't get what your point is. Were you happy with the late game execution in the Portland game?

my point is its far more often i see Russ getting killed on this forum but when KD takes dumb shots or pouts its easily forgiven.. why is that?? why are we so hard on the 3rd year point guard yet so leniant with the 4th year wing player? is it a mancrush?? i'm trying to understand yall

dude you should go over to the celtic thread sometimes and see their gamethread sometimes. Other than the occasional westbrook is a ballhog comment, we don't really comment much on him other than the isolated case.

i.e. the whole team switch off on defence
i.e. Harden is OPEN! pass to him
i.e. He shouldn't run down the shotclock (More on brooks fault imo)
i.e. He gambles for steals at time.

Durant's better than Westbrook, so there's usually less to complain about with him. Westbrook is still learning a position he never really played before his professional career, so he makes more mistakes than Durant. They both have questionable shot selection, but Durant is far more efficient despite this (fewer turnovers and far higher shooting efficiency), so it matters less.

I don't think Westbrook gets 'killed' on this board.

I agree, it gets sickening sometimes. Durant has just as many faults as Russ, its just that Durant is a much better shooter so he can still put up his "points" when he is struggling. There are a lot of Durant homers on this board.

Uh. Is this a bad thing? Durant doesn't have just as many faults as Westbrook, as has been stated he's a much more consistent threat, and his game is less reliant upon gambling, feast or famine type plays. i.e. Russ' gambling for steals, gambling on drives into traffic, gambling with tough passes. Westbrook is skilled enough to make that work for him, but Durant's just better because he doesn't have to do that to remain effective.

Durant homers on a Thunder board? Oh no! :-?
