I really liked Jeffers as well. Reminds me of a bulkier Tony Allen. Did I also see him play a bit of PF and get the ball at least one time in the low block?
Jeffers is just a great glue guy to have at the wing especially when you have the erratic Crawford out there.

I was thinking that Chuck might be a good name for him. Notice that he doesn't get the quick hook for his chucking.

He might if they weren't down to four players

And who would we sub in for him?? He's currently got the luxury of playing on a decimated roster. I'd imagine if NY was healthy he'd have some kind of leash.

He could even have his own song.

Because he never shoots? He hit a wide open corner 3 and nothing else on 4 shots. Last game in the same minutes (20) he had zero points on 0-2 shooting. I appreciate his hustle, rebounding, and defense but he's a warm body while 1/2 our team is injured, nothing more.

His worst shot is when he tries to catch and shoot from 3. He is just way to quick about it. It's like a hot potato in his hands. He has no form when he does that. But when he takes just 1 second longer to get a little more set, he is a lot more effective from there. But with only Craw and Mo shooting from range, this team is way short handed.
If Nick was healthy, this team as is would be a lot better as long as McGee can keep up what he has been doing the last two games. Then consider that group with a healthy Booker added to that.
I don't think this team sucks as bad as the record. They were just really young this year. And along with that, they were always injured. Now they are very injured so you can't even see what they have given the individual progress some players have made.

Seems like a quality guy, but I have not been all that impressed with his game. He does hustle though. But he doesn't look to have a place in the NBA.

I really see a similarity between him and Tony Allen. Just because the guy doesn't score doesn't mean he's not useful. He was a great hustle wing one which is necessary next to Jordan Crawford.

Re: Player of the Game - Wiz at Jazz (3/28/11)
One thing Crawford brings is energy and a desire to compete to the floor.
I like what I'm seeing from Crawford, once he slows down his mind a bit he looks like a keeper to me........he's leaps and bounds beyond Young in his rookie year. Young was intimidated and lost on the floor. Crawford may be missing, but he gets his shots off and has already had a double double for us.
I'm a fan, so much so I'd let Young walk or at least use Crawford as leverage to get his contract to a reasonable range. If someone outbids us, oh well. I like the Wall/Crawford pairing.

Crawford's TS% is 43.7% which is 9% lower than Nick's TS% as a rookie. Crawford is scoring at a rate of 16.7 pts per 36 minutes on the season compared to 17.6 for Nick as a rookie.

And unlike Young, Crawford doesn't seem to have the length or athleticism to be a plus defender at the 2. Monta Ellis just abused him.
I like Crawford, but it doesn't make sense to let NY walk because of Jordan's production.

Not only do I think that is true, I don't think there is any reason to not look at adding another guard in addition to keeping Nick. This team suffers from lack of outside pure spot up shooter. Rip is his prime type or Reggie. Hell, they don't even need that level, because they have very little from the outside. Almost anything would be an improvement.

Agreed. I am hoping they get a shooter with the Atlanta pick.

No one got my sly Clyde Drexler reference? Am I the only one who sees the similarity (in the way they play kind of hunched over)?
