Houston general manager Daryl Morey pursued a trade for Carmelo Anthony, but now that the team has played so well without a big star, owner Leslie Alexander is less willing to make that type of move.
"Definitely, the way our players are playing," Alexander said. "Daryl and I always fight about this. It's all give and take. I think our guys have shown they are capable of winning a championship if we add a couple pieces to them. I don't want to give them away for some other player.
"We are young. (Patrick) Patterson. (Kyle) Lowry's just 24. Chase (Budinger), Courtney (Lee) and Jordan Hill. You can go on and on and on. Chuck Hayes (28) is not that old. Yao (Ming) is only 31. There is no reason he can't have five or six more years."

Had to make a separate thread for this. Do you guys think we need a superstar or just some more role players/borderline all stars?
If we dont go for a superstar then we only need to find a starting defensive big and a closer who's a legit 1st option. if we can keep two of lowry, scola, martin and some of our other role players who can score. we dont really need a 2nd option.
I definitely wanna keep Rick as the coach. Even if we dont contend next season we could be a legit playoff team. It would give us more time to build chemistry with another new roster under Rick's system. Without a superstar we need some kind of offensive system that doesnt need a 10apg point guard or a dominant score who gets triple teamed. Rick is just the guy for that.
