jimmer?

Post#1 » by robg146 » Tue Mar 29, 2011 1:13 am

i'm a huge lakers fan.....and i was wondering since none of ur guards play defense all that well (besides kobe, when he decides he wants to)... and he probably is a better shooter/scorer than any of our guards besides kobe....would he be a welcome addition? i mean wouldn't he automatically have better bball iq than sb? should we draft him in round 2 and try him out since his stock is plummeting?

Jimmer can't play defense either so he wouldn't solve our defensive problems. Jimmer's stock isn't plummeting, as a matter of fact since some players are deciding not to participate in this year's draft I expect him to be taken earlier than expected. He'll be a high/mid lotto pick. No way he gets past Utah with one of their lotto picks.

I would quit being a Lakers fan if they drafted Jimmer Nothreatte.

OP sounds more like a Jimmer fan than a Laker fan and no way he falls that low even if his stock fell rock bottom....reminds me of when we traded for Ammo, we gained like 50 fans in a day

Lakers need a quick player who has skills and all world talent. Not a slow under size Larry Bird wanna be.

Because he's not white? I actually liked Javaris and enjoyed watching him play late in Lakers games. A 6'5 point guard with good handles and athleticism, but for some reason didn't pan out. It seems like he wasn't all there mentally, it's too bad because he was the #1 HS PG in his class.

Javaris was Lakers worst pick in recent times IMO. If they land Jimmer (not happening anyway), it will be the surprise of the year. No matter how much people try to deny his skills, I fail to see how he's not in the 15-20 range

Right, because we're going to get such a LOW draft pick, that we'll be able to select him. My God, I've seen "Jimmer" threads for almost every NBA team.

If he falls that low to the second round? Sure we should give him a try. Otherwise no

umm it was just a question.....but anyways.....ummm why would he suck in our system?.....sb can't shoot and has horrible bball iq....no1 on la plays consistant d all season long;.....sooo what would be the problem though? i mean fish can't drive to the basket at will, can't defend all too well....but fish gets the job done......why can't he be a fisher-esque player.....?

he's not going to fall that low, and the lakers arent trading up to draft him. that and we have no need for a guard with that skillset. its really not that hard to understand.

did you even think before you started this thread?

I dont watch a lot of college ball. Currently living in Kentucky thats saying a bunch because it honestly took effort not to watch UK or Louisville. However, this year I became curious at the Jimmer hype and I watched almost every televised BYU game. I must say Jimmer is a straight gamer and the kid will produce at the next level. Sure he is almost a duplicate of JJ Reddick but kid is a killer. Thats something JJ didn't have coming into the NBA, a killer instinct. Jimmer is solidly built and can slash.

Theres no way Lakers grab him. He will be long gone 1st round you can book that. Jimmer will score and his defense wont be the worse you have seen. I have compared his scouting report and Nash's draft report, its amazing how similar they are to each other. I AM NOT SAYING DUDE IS THE SECOND COMING OF STEVE NASH. I am just saying his level of play will evolve because I think he has that drive to be a really good NBA player.

He will be a legit 6th man from the word go. He might someday sneak into a starting spot ONLY if his defense improves, develops more as a slasher or improves his passing. One these improvements will make his career in the NBA much longer. Think Miller, Korver, House.
