Jefferson unhappy with Corbin

Post#1 » by HolyToledo » Wed Mar 30, 2011 11:44 pm

Realgm is reporting Jefferson is unhappy with Corbin especially as to his benching in the last game. Jefferson has also said that he wants to play center next year alongside Favors with Millsap at the SF. He says there is the lineup (or words to that effect). Millsap says a summer and pre-season will help him make the move, thus it appears to be in the works for next year that Millsap will play SF.

All of us are unhappy with Corbin mainly because of he lack of playing time for Favors and Hayward while playing Raja too many minutes. He finally played the young guys at the cost of time to Millsap and Jefferson which made them angry.

2011-2012 Utah Jazz (if there is a season)
PG Harris Watson Jimmer
SG Miles Hayward Jimmer
C Jefferson Okur Elson
PF Favors Millsap Evans (Rookie-Jazz #1 pick)
SF Millsap Hayward (Rookie-Jazz #1 round pick)

Team could be very good if Harris plays well and Favors, Miles, and Hayward continue to develop, but could also be bad if Harris, Miles, and Jefferson continue to play dumb basketball.
Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!

If you listened to Big Al today, he frustratedly said there was zero issue with Corbin and the story was pulled out of thin air. He said he understood Corbin playing the young guys and that he wasn't at all bothered by it.

I think Al is frustrated that he himself could not get this team into the playoffs....to me he just seems so much more motivated on the Jazz, I think next year he comes back in good shape and averages 23 and 10 through the season and we make the tail end of the playoffs. I'd be pretty happy if that's how this entire fiasco plays out.

no doubt al is frustrated, but its not over ty al ALL. I think he wishes that he could have given them the final push into the playoffs, but oh well next year Al... next year.

Poor guy has been hearing that for 3 or 4 years.

Maybe he is frustrated, but not for the reasons that Brian T. Smith of the Tribune has said, Brian T. Smith is the one for causing all this drama on Twitter and in the SLTrib.

I want the jazz to sign Aaron Afflalo big time, and draft Enes Kanter and hopefully Brandon Knight if he is available at 12.

Harris/Knight
Afflalo/Bell
Hayward/Miles
Favors/Millsap
Jefferson/Kanter/Okur

Thats my lineup. If they can't get Afflalo, we need to go hard after Shane Battier. We need his defense and leadership on this team in the worst way.

Ditto on the Afflalo front! Unfortunately, from everything I've read the only way to steal him from Denver would be to pull some Portland/Millsap/Mathews B.S.

I disagree with the Battier part though. Battier 3 years ago, definitely. However, I feel like Battier now would be like Raja Bell v2.0. I do think Raja will have a bit of a bounce back year next year tho... if there is one.

I wouldn't go that far. Siler was awesome, so holding Mr. Smith to that standard may not be fair.

Why? I would think one of the premiere Utah media outlets would be able to find someone better. The guy is so lifeless and dull with no real insight into the team at all. He's like a damn robot.

Don't get me wrong, I'd swap Smith for Siler in a heartbeat (and I often follow his twitter feed) -- I just don't think it's fair to say Brian sucks.

BTW - This whole Jefferson/Corbin thing appears to have been drummed up by how Smith interpreted Jefferson's body language during and after the Washington game. Hornacek was on the radio this morning completely dismissing the idea that there's any rift. He said they were all kind of laughing about it. Said Jefferson is really competitive and wanted to be out there.

Exactly. The WT column wouldn't be there if Smith hadn't made the story up in the first place like some entertainment tonight gossip bull.
