Kings @ Nuggets

Post#1 » by pillwenney » Wed Mar 30, 2011 11:12 pm

If somebody wants to start a real game thread, feel free to do so in here.

Our guys have been playing well recently, but this is going to be a really tough test. Denver has been playing out of their minds as of late.

I don't have high hopes for this game. If Beno is starting again, he's gonna have a lot of trouble against Felton. Guarding the three will be a key this game.

After the Melo trade, the Nuggets are 8-0 @ home. And lately, they are blowing out sub-.500 teams too. It looks bleak for the Kings but I still have hope that we can still take the from Denver.

That last play was beautiful. Cousins posting, commanding the double; kicks it out to Udrih who swings it to Thornton for the open three--score.

Despite the score, I feel like we could have played better, which is encouraging.

Of course, Denver could have played much better.

Udrih's "defense" is so bad on Lawson and Felton. They have been doing whatever they want on him. He kind of just stands near them and occasionally runs next to them while they walk in for layups.

Anyway, good half! Ten point lead and Thornton already has 4 threes and 16 points. Don't be misled by his 4-8 from behind the arc stat--two of those were at the end of quarters. So he's really 4-6.

Yeah, I think we're going to need to get Pooh in there to guard their PGs. Beno is just doing nothing there right now, although he is running the team nicely.

Thank goodness Westphal took Cousins out. Clearly we're a much better team without the player that was consistently drawing a double team. You've heard of streaky shooters? Well, Westphal is a streaky coach! hahaha.

He was also turning it over a lot. I totally understand the decision.

Don't worry. I'm sure that pass directly into Gallo's hands was Westphal's fault.

Well, I'm at least glad to see Tyrke go to the rim on that last play. Usually in this game, good things happen when he doesn't pull up for some dumb jumper.

You know, when the Nugs picked up the defense in the second half, it seems like the refs have swallowed their whistle. You can play hard D but they are hand checking, grabbing, and using their body on everyone and it's not getting called.

Thornton needs the ball more.

EDIT: Kings look tired. Just piss poor basketball this half.

Yeah. They're just not playing with the necessary focus. Hard to see them getting back into this.

Return to Sacramento Kings
