I think after the playoffs they need to have a few days to sit down and figure out who is coming back next year. If Brown and Barnes opt out and Caracter doesn't have his option picked up, I think it may be worth trading for a 1st round pick.

We have GSW's 2nd round pick, right?

Who might that be?

Yes we do. If we can get PG by other means than the draft, then I think we should just package the some of the 2nd rounders and a future pick, jump back into the 1st round and draft PF/C Keith Benson. But I do agree that we need to draft a big.

I forgot his name. People were talking about him in the knicks board so I did a bit of research on him. He looks good from what I saw...

I'm too tired now so I'll look up for his name tomorrow.

Btw, do you think we need a 1st round pick to draft Keith? I belive that our GSW 2nd round pick would be enough...

I wish it would be. But truth is if he's available in the second round Miami with the #2 pick in the second round (from Minnesota) would most likely end up drafting him since they need a big man. We realistically only have a shot at the 25th and 27th picks in the first round and those belong to Chicago, which I'm sure they'll be willing to part with one. Honestly idk if he'll be on the board then because I could see a team like Portland, Phoenix, and Oklahoma City possibly drafting him. But it would put us in the best position. Benson is that good, he's a sleeper definitely and once he bulks up he'll be a force at the PF position.

I agree. As I said in the trade thread, we should keep Barnes and trade Brown to the Bulls for one of their 1st rounders.

any PG in this draft built like George Hill? think if we can find a guy like that he would be a solid contributor, especially defensively.....Hill was projected to be our pick on some Mock drafts that year but of course the Spurs get to him 1st just like they did with Blair who I also hoped fell to us that draft.....but we need more defense from the PG spot, with some driving skills and the occasional 3's will do just fine.

I would say Shelvin Mack from Butler is pretty similiar to George Hill.

^^^^sounds bout right reading his prospect notes, long arms and ability to guard both G spots....man I can only imagine us having Hill and having Kobe/Fish mentor him, as good as he is now, I think he could be that much better here playing next to these 2 guys

The number of PG's in this draft is very slim, so the likelihood of finding a George Hill is not likely. This year's draft has more SF/PF prospects than anything. According to most draft sites there's only two PG that are slated to be drafted around our highest pick (42nd overall) and thats Kansas PG Tyshawn Taylor, and Illnois PG Demetri McCamey. Demetri reminds me of current Derek Fisher, stays camped out at the 3 pt line because his severe lack of speed and explosiveness prevents him from attacking the rim. He has better court vision than Derek though. I just don't like Tyshawn Taylor as a prospect, sort of an ugly duckling. He can penetrate sure, but he just doesn't do anything special.

We're better off trading for a PG thats already in the league, say a Felton or a Eric Bledsoe because there are no worth while PG prospects in the late 1st/2nd rounds of the upcoming draft.

thats the problem man, we dont have assests to trade for these types of players, especially Bledsoe, guy is going to be a beast if he keeps playing the play he's been playing.....since all our picks are 2nd rders anyways might as well swing for the fences on some of these guys, they dont work out oh well they go their way and we go ours.....dam now I think bout 2nd rd pg I want me another Nick the Quick

lol I forgot all about Shelvin Mack. He's not even on a mock draft so chances are that he goes undrafted and we could just sign him in the offseason. One prospect I forgot about is Norris Cole. Cole is an intriguing PG that stands 6'2" and plays for Cleveland State. While he was in college he dominated the opposing teams, putting up great statlines like this 41/20/9 he earned over Youngstown State. It's not known how well he'll do considering he never played against any NBA prospects in college since he played in the Horizon league, but he could be a steal. Cole can do it all, has good instincts, ball handling ability, scoring mentality, quick enough to attack the rim, and is not prone to turning the ball over. The only knock on this kid is that he tried to do too much on offense, at time killing the rhythm of others around him. At our current highest pick, he's the best PG we're going to get.

I know, I know. I agree on Bledsoe his talent is unreal, but aren't they using him as a backup SG? Thats sort of odd, he's 6'1" he's more of PG height and if they really had plans of him being their future wouldn't they start him at the point? And yeah we aren't going to be finding any talent like Nick in this draft lol but there are a lot of talented prospects that play out of the PG position in the 2nd round.
