But in the end we should still look to surround them with well rounded players, complete talents (which I see in Hamilton actually). We already got players who do one thing and one thing alone like knocking down an open three (Walker, Williams, Mason). But the reason these guys arent getting more minutes is that they dont pass well, they cant drive to the hoop, have almost no offensive game next to their shot. We just cant afford to have such players on the court for long periods of time since even if they hold their own on defense we suffer so much on offense (dont get me started on Jeffries). I want the kid that we draft to be multi dimensional, well rounded, skilled and versatile. He shouldnt be challenged on either side of the court. This is a reason why I dont really like Faried with our pick because I think we can get like him later and hustle forwards at 6-8 arent worth a mid first rounder, especially when we have Amare playing PF most of the time.
Yea I wasnt saying we dont want well rounded players. But I guess i was saying that Hamilton has the potential to be a well rounded player AND he already does one thing extremely well that can help the knicks right away. Amare and Melo are going to be make scoring for a guy like Hamilton alot easier, be it spot up threes or slashing to the hoop imo.
On Faried I can definetly feel you. I like the guy actually but being that we already have amare and being that he is so limited offensively he's not worth our first round pick imo. If we got him I wouldnt curse donnie because I think he'll be a good player, but at the same time I wouldnt be thrilled with what he can bring to our team right now either.
