Millsap to Start at SF Tonight (April Fools-Free Thread)

Post#1 » by The59Sound » Fri Apr 1, 2011 5:05 pm

From the Salt Lake Tribune:

Utah coach Tyrone Corbin said that he will start Earl Watson, C.J. Miles, Paul Millsap, Al Jefferson and Kyrylo Fesenko tonight against the Los Angeles Lakers in an attempt to counter the Lakers' size.

At first I was like  but now I'm like  because it's not Sap, Favors and Al.

After some careful reflection I am now like  .

Still no Hayward starting  , but I guess it kinda makes sense against the Lakers. I don't think Millsap has the foot-speed to guard 3s, but baptism by fire is always the way to do these things

Hayward is now the third best 3 point shooter in the NBA.

I looked for the post where someone called me out as an idiot for suggesting a couple of weeks ago that Millsap was going to convert to the an SF. The reply said, it would never happen. I wasn't hitting the crack pipe when I wrote the original post. It bites to be so wrong, eh!

Don't worry, Fesenko will get in foul trouble quickly and Favors will get most of the PT.

True, but why the hell does Fesenko get the starting spot over Favors? Miles is kind of understandable, he's an x factor, and he does much better as a starter. so it's forgivable, plus Hayward still is a bit scared to shoot.

Maybe he's starting Fes so that Favors can back up both spots???? I'm just psyched he's willing to adjust the lineup for an opponent....

I was listening to 120 the zone from 12:40 -1:00

those guys are idiots, saying artest is gonna kill paul. Like really I gave them a chnac and they lost me forever, saying this is a terrible mathcup for paul.

Dont those bastards remember when we played them 2 times this year and preseason we had Ak on lamar and paul on Artest????\

anyway... This is probably the best matchup for paul lets see how he does it.

I assume Fes is starting in an effort to keep Favors out of foul trouble early... Could be wrong though

Lamar Odom rebounds over Millsap like crazy at the 4 spot. He's just way too fast for Paul to use his strength to keep him out. I mean, he just goes around him to the ball.

Odom faces up a lot of players. This is going to be a big test for Millsap.

At least it means more time for Favors. If it doesn't...

I think Paul looks really good at small forward...

Ya, great idea Corbin. Start someone who is a foul machine and isn't going to be on the team next season over the future of the franchise who is clearly the better player.

:sigh:

I can't get angry at Fes for his effort in the first couple quarters, but I don't understand Derrick Favors playing 16 minutes, so I agree with you, he is the future of this franchise along with Hayward, so odd.

Maybe we will see him in a lot more since we are officially out of the playoffs.

Who knows, either way, Favors is beast.

How did Favors manage to get another drop in minutes with Millsap at the 3? Favors only had 3 fouls! I'm mad.

I'm not a fan of this but ALOT of jazz fans to this day stand by Sloan's decision to start the Miltness and McLown over DWill his rookie season...wierd how everyone realizes it's a huge mistake when someone else is doing it

Williams needed the humbling; Favors doesn't.
