will it be easier to stay in second?

Post#1 » by robg146 » Sat Apr 2, 2011 7:29 am

i mean we'd destroy NOH...we'd beat den or portland, they just don't have enough fire power..and we'd def beat SA, even on their court..but then again if we get the 1 we'd have hca throughout the whole PO's... with the 1 memphis may be a little bit of a headache and i'm not sure i want to see durant in rd two if he steps his Post season game up.......and who's the team you're most nervous about? i'm thinking the heat if we play them....i mean when was the last time we won a game against lebron....we never play well against that b*tch....smh....

Kobe chokes on sight of Lebron. But the team will probably bail him out as per usual, can't see the Lakers not winning it regardless of being first or second.

Lebron's the one too scared to get into the Finals though son

This is gonna be a big topic on ESPN for the next week or two but the only real advantage to the 2nd seed is not facing the Thunder in the 2nd round.

Facing the Thunder though seems kind of inevitable at this point...its just a matter of facing them in the semi's or the conference finals. Maybe I'm overrating them but I don't see the Spurs beating them.

As far as the first round goes, right now 6th through 8th seed is separated by one game so its impossible to guess who we'd play in the 1st round...so ultimately you've just got to go for wins. Hopefully we draw the Hornets but you really can't worry about that with 7 games to go.

Scenarios:

1st Seed:
1st round (mem, noh, por) - Thunder - Mavs/Spurs - Finals

2nd Seed:
1st round (mem, noh, por) - Mavs - Thunder/Spurs - Finals

yeah, but when/if we play the heat (i anticipate that we will).....kobe typically never does anything well against lebron.....lebron sh*ts on artest all the time.....and then on top of that the last time we played gasol made bosh look like wilt....and then we have to worry about dwade, miller, bibby....all those outside shooters.....and we don't play perimeter d....we just watch and hope the balls doesn't go in.....sooo the heat may not be a good look if we have to play them....

Now he's got a good player with him, we'll soon see what he's really made of.....I hate people who judge him for being the best one man show in the modern game at a godawful Cleveland.

He was better against the Celtics in the playoffs than Kobe was....and that's with him giving up in two games. Kobe so clutch though~!

personally, i dont think we are goin to make the 1st seed. i mean . . . cmon . . . the spurs aint gonna lose all of 'em right? its not that we win or lose, we are also dependent upon them having a TOTAL collapse . . . and i dont think thats gonna happen, they are a veteran team.

id stay in 2nd if it still meant HCA over chicago

as it stands, chicago aint giving that up, just go for the #1 overall seed instead

i don't see how chicago beats the miami wadebron's in 7 games.....but with hca....and the 1st win in any series....and we will be victorious....kobe just has to stay within the triangle and not shoot us out of games while trying to assert himself as the better player between him n lbj....i just hope he doens't try and prove a point while shooting us out of games.......IF bynum is healthy....and gasol turns into bynums robin on defense....well we'd probably treat miami like we did orl being that they had similar players in 09.....dh12 plays like lebron...all they do is dunk.....just clog up that paint....

This. If we still had the better record of any team in the east then we're better off settling into the 2 seed. But Chicago doesn't really show signs of slowing down, so we've got to keep winning and take the more difficult path to get HCA in the finals. And Miami w/ a healthy Haslem will push Boston to the brink, but Boston will eventually slide into the Finals.

I think the Lakers would rather be second in the west but staying ahead of the Bulls may just put them in first place the Bulls are just as hot as the Lakers right now until they lose a game or 2 the Lakers really can't relax.

Memphis will not finish 8th, people... No chance in hell.

Either houston or NO gonna be the 8th seed.

At this point, they have already had their collapse. We also have a game remaining against them, and at just a game and 1/2 behind, that might be the deciding factor on whether we finish first or not.

Best case scenario:
1st round: just avoid Blazers (its that simple)
2nd round: Thunder or Mavs, I say Thunder
WCF: Spurs, Thunder or Mavs... you should have to play a top team in the WCFs
Finals: East Beast (hopefully a little tired and banged up as we will be too)

Nothing is guaranteed. The only team that has home court if we don't lose is Bulls and Spurs. That's something.
