ya after jeffers started guarding ellis, ellis only managed to get off 3 shots (hit one) in about 8 minutes of play.

also finished +5 in 20 minutes of play

He's a good player. I remember him from D-League before Utah called him up. He's a guy who's dominated summer league. His NBA calling card does seem to be defense and rebounding, but Jeffers scored quite a bit in D-League and summer.

Guys like him and Martin are good 11th and 12th men, IMO. They work hard and show professionalism and will accept any NBA role.

He seems mature and has a strong body. D and rebounds helps.

Jeffers is a keeper. Even if he's way at the end of the bench.

They say you can't coach height. But it appears that you can't coach courage either. This guy just has a lot of courage, plays the game with a sense of purpose and personal integrity, fearless.

Even if every one of the current and future EG moves works out in the off season, this guy has a place on my roster.

he may not be the most talented guy out there but I love
his heart and hunger. He's a keeper for the end of the
bench or at least the 15 man roster

I think he's talented, he's just not very tall.

I appreciate Jeffers Efforts :D, but hungry guys like Jeffers are a dime-a-dozen in the D-League, Patrick Ewing Jr, Garrett Temple, and many others are only a 10-day contract away.

Othyus Jeffers Thread

Post#28 » by hands11 » Sat Apr 2, 2011 3:09 am

No sure we have one. If so, this can be merged.

25 years old. He is a man baby.

Love his attitude. Love the MJ / Julius one hand pump fake.

Flip calls him "O"

I don't know if he makes it back, but I like watching him for now.

Yes, because I have nothing else in my life to do but merge your threads.

This original thread was at the top of page 2 on the board as you decided to start another thread. Looking *one measly page* down beyond the top page would have saved me the trouble of having to merge these two.

Thanks for nothing. No pony for Christmas for you.

I suspect Shakur will be gone.

Its going to depend on who we draft if Jeffers stays. I suspect we'll be nearing the player limit after this draft.

After the one really nice debut game against BOS, Shakur has really
struggled to be productive/run the team. Tonight (CLE) was no
exception.

Shakur sealed his fate with those ugly FT's and missed point-blank lay-ups.

The other Big O deserves a long-term, minimum deal IMO.

He's kinda imtimidating for a guy who's just 6'5. He might already be the Wiz' best defender and defensive rebounder. I would not want him guarding me. He doesn't fit any mold - otherwise he'd be in the NBA a long time ago. Sign him up.

His style o play kind of reminds me of Ruben "the Kobe Stopper" Patterson.

+1 on the ruben patterson comparison. i think he HAS to be resigned and made an integral part of the roster. I don't want to see his spot dropped in favor of draft picks like singleton and ruffin were.

Everything actually really worked out well this year.

Player developed.

and the injuries allowed EG to call up D League players because he had cap space. This is the kind of thing a lot of up have wanted to see.

In reality, there are probably a lot of D League players who are just as good or better than player in the NBA. The only thing they lack is someone giving them a legit chance. After all, bench player are role players. They dont have to do everything well, but what they do need to do it bring it.

Tore his ACL in July. Really too bad after he finally broke through. Who knows when he'll be able to play again.
