Grizzlies: 31-26, 14th best record in the league.
Bulls: 37-16, 5th best record in the league.

Kind of a big difference.

I don't know if this is a troll post, since there are a moderate amount of bbiq-inept fools on these here forums, or if this is a cocky Spurs fan that got his head inflated from the Spurs' out-of-the-blue success, so he thinks it's right to group everyone with a lesser record than the Spurs in the 'okay' team category.

See you guys Thursday. I'll be at the game, and I guarantee a win.

Memphis in the east would probably have the same record and Chicago in the west more specifically the southwest div. would more than likely have the Grizzlies record.

You're right, big difference... in the eastern conference and the western conference.

I'm a troll because I posted something you disagreed with? Seriously, that's the prerequisite to being a "troll" now? lol

But as for why I posted that, simple, imo both the Memphis Grizzles and Chicago Bulls are "ok" teams. They're neither elite nor garbage.

The Bulls are the Thunder of the east, young, talented and playing well but nothing more than a first or second team. They're not better than the Thunder imo which shows you the drop out of the Bulls compared to west teams.

They're a top 10 team, but they are not a top 5 team.

Spurs
Boston
Miami
Mavs
Lakers

As for the Spurs record this season, it is a bit unexpected but the Spurs have been WCF contenders, if not final contenders, every year since Duncan was drafted, if any Spurs success was going to inflate my head, it'd have happened a long time ago.

See you guys Thursday. I'll be at the game, and I guarantee a win.

What pride I have, lol

P.S. If they were the Thunder of the East, they'd be 35-19, which is also not the Grizzlies.

P.P.S. We have a 16-7 record against the western conference, giving us a .696 win PCT, 2 pts lower than our actual percentage. For the record, the Grizzlies are 17-16 against WC teams.

P.P.P.S. And knock on wood, but I am 11-1 in Bulls games I have went to dating from the start of last year, the one loss coming from a Brad Miller buzzer beater vs. DEN that was called off.

You better be knocking on wood between now and the game because that comment has jinx all over it. God dammit if we lose I'm blaming you and only you.

I also guarantee a Bulls win and I'm also willing to wager on it. If the Bulls lose, RonMercerMVP will never post here again, thats how serious I am about this.

LOL at Bulls fans calling a Spurs fan cocky. SA"s been a better team than Chicago for more than a decade now so SA fans don't need the "out of the blue" record to validate their team. If anything, it's the Bulls fans that have inflated egos considering this is the first time the Bulls will crack 50 wins in thirteen years.

Are both Memphis and Chicago in the 'okay team' category?

Bulls are one of the best defensive teams in the league. They are a borderline contender. If they would have somehow found a way to get their hands on another player like OJ Mayo, I'd honestly have them as possibly the 2nd favorites coming out East besides Boston.

However Rudy Gay is out for a month at least. OJ Mayo isnt getting traded because of that. If the Bulls can get JR Smith or SJax they would contenders also.

OJ Mayo is going to carry the Grizzlies on his back, because this is the first time in his career where Gay has been injured for a long period of time. Grizz fans trust in OJ Mayo, he will carry you to the playoffs, there is no doubt about it. It starts Feb 22nd
OJ Mayo , Michael Jordan , Allen Iverson.

So is he getting traded or carrying the Grizzlies into the playoffs on his back?
Or both (by virtue of getting traded for something with value)?

Typo. I meant to say isn't. There is no chance of OJ Mayo getting traded now that Rudy Gay is hurt and they are in the playoff picture. If Gay didn't get hurt, Mayo would have been as good as gone most likely to the Bulls on Feb 24th.

Since Mayo is staying, Hollins is now basically forced to not only play him big big minutes but feature him in the offense. This is all I have asked from day 1. The rest will take care of itself. OJ is going to show you Grizz fans why I have always spoken so highly of him. I have scouted this guy so much, and I have come to conclusion his peak ceiling is somewhere between Ray Allen and Kobe Bryant. I just don't know which end of the spectrum yet.

The next 11 games will give me a better picture. Let the Games begin.
OJ Mayo , Michael Jordan , Allen Iverson.

Fair enough. And I'm not trying to hate, but I do love busting your chops.

Which end of the hall of fame spectrum. OK.
Look, I think OJ is plenty talented, but he faces serious obstacles as a result of his physical limitations (size and lack of explosiveness). He has to get better playing off the ball and getting to the rim when he does have the ball. Period.
If he doesn't he's basically peaked already.

The whole league is about to get slathered in Mayo!

Tony Allen has been amazing. He shot 58% for the entire month of march on 14 points. OJ Mayo seems to finally seems to understanding the 6th man scoring role, it took him long enough, but better late then never. Battier gives us that veteran leadership. I expect to see a lot of Mayo and Battier and less of Young who has unwarrantly been playing a ton of minutes come playoff time. Zach Randolph has been flirting with triple doubles, and Marc is more aggressive.

I certainly think we are a top 5 team right now out West, and in all the power rankings we are in the top 10 in the NBA.

And we are 14-7 now without our best player Rudy Gay. Just think if he was still healthy how much better we would be.

Right now, Memphis is TOP 5 in the NBA.

Rudy Gay's ballhogness is a cancer for this team, now they are shooting at all cylinders. The Spurs better be prepared.

I didn't know Battier was traded to memphis. That would make Memphis nightmare match up for the lakers. Kobe would have to go though Allen and Battier's defensive rotation and Pau against his brother.
