Amare calls Pau soft, Drew responds

Post#1 » by dockingsched » Sun Apr 3, 2011 4:53 pm

you can't make this stuff up:

Q: People used to love to throw out there that Pau was soft. Whats it like to actually have to go up against Pau Gasol?
Amare: He's still soft. He's a good player but he has help down there with Lamar Odom and Andrew Bynum, those 7 footers down there. He has a supporting cast.

Bynum on twitter:

The NBA is a weird place! How can a man that plays 0 defense call a 2 time champion soft?

Sometimes, when someone is making such a fool of themselves, you don't even need to say anything.

Honestly, I love seeing this. Andrew got Pau's back. Barnes got Blake's back. Its great. I actually care about this more than a W. Hearing Kobe talking about brothers and Barnes reaffirming about being a family is just what i want to hear. and now i know we will win because everyone is backing each other up..

Damn Amare just doesn't know when to keep his mouth shut. He keeps running that mouth of his and it makes him look like a fool. Remember when Lamar punked his ass last year and he said Lamar got lucky? He ran his mouth about Al Horford too earlier in the year. He must have a bitter taste in his mouth about how we ended his career with the Suns. He needs to look in the mirror before he talks again.

Props to Drew for sticking up for Pau. I wish we played the Knicks again this year.

If anyone is soft, it's Amare.

Remember when he ran his mouth last year in the playoffs and Kobe made it a point to get Gasol the ball so he could put it on his ass? Heck, which of our bigs hasn't owned Amare? Gasol, Bynum, and Odom seem to take turns clowning him.

All talk no bite. Amare's bitter that we always took away his potential championships in Phnx. Most of all 2 champs compared to 0 yeah I think Cousins and Amare could be butt buddies since they like to talk smack about our bigs.

Them haters are getting scared boys I'm smelling fear in every team that faces us from here on out!

Amare seems completely unaware he averaged 6 rbs/game against Pau in the Conf. Finals last year (Kobe by comparison grabbed 7.17)...meanwhile Pau grabbed 18 boards in game 7 of the Finals.

Not to mention he defended like this the entire series...

 I remember the team clearing out the side and kobe passing the ball to Gasol to let him go to work on Amare. IIRC it was like 3 or 4 trips down the floor. At one point I was embarrassed for Amare  Gasol owned him.

Amare thinks he's a great player. He is just better than average. He hates being a real power forward. he's allergic to banging in the paint. That is why he's soft. He thinks he's Karl Malone. He will never be Karl because he can't defend or stay in the paint because he gets dunked on all the time. Unfortunately he is on the Knicks whom I am pulling for to be good because they deserve a better team. He will be gone inside 3 years. And I dont think his coach Dantoni will be around before next season. Jerry Sloan would be a great candidate which means he will not tolerate Amare shooting threes and he will have to defend or he will be gone. They could replace Amare with five better power forwards. The only reason he is in New York is because they were desperate to sign someone over the summer. He wasn't their first choice by far. Let's see if they can even get tot he playoffs and also how soft Amare will be when Superman will be taking him to the woodshed game after game.

The only thing I would change about this is the "W" Being more important. Everything else for me is right in line.
