It will be hurting to see him coaching any other team.

He could help the Clippers more than any other team.

According to a story coming out in the Salt Lake Tribune shortly, Sloan won't consider a return to coaching.
But I guess nothing is absolute.

Re: Sloan could coach again
he is a great coach is merely making the playoffs is your goal. though the jazz were already collapsing when he left, i believe they still could have made the playoffs with him. i agree with dr that the clippers are a kind of team that could benefit the most with his presence.

The wiretap is a collection of stories from other sources. It's not meant to be original reporting, it's meant to give a sample of what is being written about in different places.

I don't buy it. One of the things that Sloan loved was having an owner that stood behind him absolutely. I don't see Donald Sterling granting him that latitude. If he did come back after just sitting out the remainder of the season this year then he is a total quitter--because he would have totally quit on this team. And I don't believe he is--so I don't believe he will go coach elsewhere.

Really?! He stayed with the team after Stockton retired and malone left, when we were supposed to have the worst team of all time. Maybe he left because our management is a joke, led by a guy that has a resume that reads like this: A rich guy impregnated my mom, and then he died.

Re: Sloan could coach again
How about the Pacers? Would it be a good match?
Owner is known to be loyal - Donnie Walsh was here 20 years and left on good terms, Larry Bird still here despite 3 straight seasons missing the playoffs.
If Bird stays on as GM, I could see him recruiting Sloan. Bird seems to favor the old school approach.
We don't have any true superstars on the team, but on the flipside there aren't any monster egos either.
Lastly, Sloan's Illinois farm isn't very far away and he has ties to Indiana (played college ball, has relatives).
What do you guys think?

I could see him taking Phil's place in LA.

Re: Sloan could coach again
I love to see him finishing his career on positive note.
The less heralded teams would be best fits for him. Indiana, Milwaukee and Washington seem to have players who could play his system succesfully.

I should be on Lacob payroll...
