Re: Go Dawgs
Get Stevens as coach and then swing a deal to get Hayward from the Jazz. Hayward/Millsap for Granger/pick.

Re: Go Dawgs
The fact that he brought them this far is already such a massive excess of expectations that he's still a great coach with a lot of potential. I don't think any of us were saying that he would get us a championship trophy, but I'd be willing to give him an NBA shot.

I'm sure you're aware of how poor most college coaches are when it comes to moving to the NBA and you're also forgetting that he inherited guys like Mack, Howard, Smith, and Hayward. Not saying he's not a good coach, but you cant discount that fact.Miller4ever wrote:The fact that he brought them this far is already such a massive excess of expectations that he's still a great coach with a lot of potential. I want Brad to stay right where he is. as for last night's game, well it was like watching IU. I've kind of been expecting Butler to come up against someone with just too much talent for them to handle for two years now and it finally happened. you can't overcome talent with a perfect game every time. oh, well. there will be a next year.

Damn, I was for Butler all the way.
A mid-major playing in consecutive championship games is an unrivaled accomplishment. I'm sure I'm not the only bandwagon fan who has enjoyed the ride.
Maybe the third time will be the charm!

Re: Go Dawgs
I wouldnt say the loss was a result of the talent levels. If Butler makes their easy layups, they wouldve been right there. Yeah Uconn's d was not bad but Butler missed easy shots and guys like Smith appeared to be playing scared in the paint, Howard missed some shots that he normally hits going to the rim and same for Mack. The only guy that Butler couldnt match up with on UCONN was Lamb and when you look at the game, his baskets were all on rebounds and one breakaway. Butler lost simply because they couldnt put the ball in the basket and UCONN was able to play their game for the most part on the offensive end, not because of the talent disparity. They were able to utilize their size advantages to control the game better than Florida did in the Elite 8.Wizop wrote:I want Brad to stay right where he is. as for last night's game, well it was like watching IU. on another note, I'm still curious how UCONN claimed to be the "Cinderella" of this tournament. I dont remember a Cinderella as having numerous recruiting violations/sanctions while having multiple McDonald's All-americans including the nation's best player. *Shakes head*

I can't see him being able to handle the egos of an NBA player.

Re: Go Dawgs
Interesting recruiting class coming in for Butler this year. Might be similar to the Hayward, Mack, Nored class. Add them to the young guys who showed promise this year and have Mack elect to stay another year, they could be just as competitive next year.

Re: Go Dawgs
They'll have a large void to fill in Matt Howard. That guy was the heart and soul, and unquestioned leader of that team. Not saying no one will step up in that role, but it will be tough.
