Keep Rick

Post#1 » by Mr. E » Sun Apr 3, 2011 4:48 pm

I think that Rick Adelman wants to stay here. I think that the Rockets want to keep him.

A lot has been made of the fact that they haven't extended him yet; but the Rockets don't do extensions during the season under the Morey regime. There might be some questions coming up with the potential work stoppage; but as long as Rick wants to come back he should be leading this team.

Sorry, T-Will and daydreamer.

the offense runs itself cuz it's rick's system. we're not far from contenders or a good playoff team. we add a defensive big w/ size to the starting lineup we're in the playoffs. build some chemistry and get playoff experience then make a push for a star player in 2012 offseason. he does a few things i dont like but no coach is perfect, but he's still one of the best coaches in the league. the defense doesnt suck cuz of him, it's cuz we have no one to protect the rim. RESIGN RICK ADELMAN!!!

im gonna put that in my sig. we're only a few moves away from contending so why the **** should we get rid of him? you dont need a new coach every 4 years especially if you have a top 5 coach. you do need someone who doesnt think brad miller is the championship piece (MOREY!!!) .

Morey signed Miller but Adelman is the one playing him crazy minutes even when he's obviously not in shape or playing well.

i agree, its up to both sides. rick will want some added talents to the roster, the same way everybody here has been talking non stop about possible available talents. the rockets want adelman to stay in houston but morey has to prove he can get some talents to push us a lot higher than 8th seed contenders.

I up for a new coach still. Rick is good but he is not someone that can take you to the promise land which is something that he might not ever get to do. He has done a lot but I think it is time for some new blood. A young coach or someone that can work with a rebuilding team. I also think the line of communication between Morey and Rick are not want they use to be.

I'm getting tired of Adelmans weird rotation. The Rockets make a run and Rick take out 3 of the guys who are playing well for, as far as I can figure, no other reason than just to do it.

The bolded is the questionable part. I said it when we were playing bad and I'll say it again, Rick brings the best out of our offense and I really think he has our team overachieving.

Although I want to keep him I do agree with this. Sometimes these great offensive minds try to do TO MUCH.

I love the scheme, but my gut says Rick is gone after the season. So I would vote to promote Elston Turner to the Head Coaching gig and keep as much of the staff as possible. I'm afraid that a new scheme will not be able to utilize our talents as much as Rick's does. Turner would be a seamless transition. Let's keep it in house.

Don't even joke about that. Speaking such blasphemous words. I agree, keep him.

Realistically, who else are we going to get. This is the first year I have seen real similarities to Sacramento coached by Adelman.

Actually, I think Patterson plays a lot like C-Webb used to.

I'm not a fan of Adelman's rotations from time to time, but he's definitely one of the best coaches in the league.
