Re: Game Thread: WAS @ CHA 4/3/11
I'm rooting for losses. We won tonight but all the other tanking teams lost
. The thing is, everybody is going to forget these wins against these mediocre teams when the draft comes up. I always hear people saying "If we win the last few games, we can carry momentum into next season. WHAT? How can you carry momentum into next season when it's a whole 6 months away? I just don't get when people say that. The Pacers did it last season, heck, they do it every year, but because of that, they're stuck in mediocrity because they're not very good but they're not bad enough to get high picks. Wins are good for the young guys, but I would easily sacrifice them in order to get a better chance at getting a game-changer in the draft.

Re: Game Thread: WAS @ CHA 4/3/11
depends on how you define tanking. Different teams have
different priorities at this time of year.
If we lose a chance to draft Derrick Williams by one slot
because of a meaningless win against another bottom
dweller like CLE, that is unfortunate. That said I do
agree that wins against teams we've struggled against
for the last 3-4 years, like CHA or DET, are good confidence
builders (not momemtum, 2 different things) for next year.
Like in the CLE game only with Wall this time, the guys
who figure to be part of our rotation next year stepped
up and played well. That's a GOOD thing. The fact that
they're doing it against less than top tier talent takes
something away from it. But you have to like that they
are doing it at all.
I fear we could end up winning a bunch of these games
down the stretch and kill our chance to draft the one
guy who I believe would actually be a difference maker
next year. But I'll still root for every win.
edit to add - the potentially biggest difference maker
for us at all is McGee. If he continues to play at this
level, we'll be a lot better next year. Dray playing better
would obviously help as well. Wall I am not worried about.

A lot of what we call 'thought' is just mental activity
When you are accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression
Those who are convinced of absurdities, can be convinced to commit atrocities

What was with the green headbands?
Someone accidently drop a yellow sock in the wash?

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

Because Yi stretches the floor at the 4 spot. Because Seraphin probably doesn't make all the rotations yet in the zone defense. Because people like overrating young players even though they are OK at best right now.

Still here too. Unlike some others on the board, I'm not going to forget Blatche's subpar year (AND CAREER) based on Blatche's performance in a handful of meaningless games against crappy teams with no quality big men.

Seriously, have the Wizards recently hired a big man coach?? After last game, and this game the bigs are all attacking more... McGee looking aggressive in the post, Blatche with the pump fake and drive for the dunk, Yi actually with a pump fake and drive move! I must be dreaming!
Again I ask. . .has anyone heard from WD recently?!?
