I keep reading that Kentucky ball didn't suit his style and that they were too much of an outside shot type team. It's a pity Kanter couldn't play. Would have been good to see those two together and a more inside based game.
I also know what you mean about Kawhi. I tossed and turned about which one I would take 1st because I really liked what I saw from Kawhi - a lot, but at the end of the day I think that Jones has more upside and more of a chance of being a "home run" type pick.
In saying that, I only got to see Kawhi play twice - so maybe he has that "it" factor too and I just don't know it?
I think a lot of it had to do with, like you said, them changing from the dribble drive to a pick and pop offense. The dribble drive really let each player get a chance to make a play with the ball individually but the newer style focused more on the PG (no wonder Knight started to play better) and relied on set shooters.
I do agree that he has higher star potential than Leonard but it's troubling to not see much improvement in his game over the year. I remember talking with you about Tyreke a couple of years ago and how noticeable it was to see his improvement as the year wound on--something I continue to talk about with Barnes.
There's certainly no denying there is a lot of potential and physical tools to work with, I just don't know if he has the BBIQ to put it together and work it all out.
