The next one...? Explain how to hype it. Him against Alves, let's say. What's the upshot for Penn's motivation? He's had three poor performances in a row and he has no remarkable motivation left. How does a Countdown promise a good fight?

How is knocking Hughes out a poor performance?

Condit has let it be known the he wants to be Fitch's replacement in fight with Penn,

I think that would be a good choice for UFC, that would be a good fight. Two former 170 Champs squaring off.

Seems like they may be waiting to see how serious Fitch's injury is. I think they want that fight for both guys more than anything else.

Condit was supposed to fight Dong-Hyun Kim, but I can't find it on MMA Junkie's upcoming cards, so maybe it has been scrapped.

Koch vs Swanson added to this card, they were scheduled to meet at UFC on Versus 3 Kampmann/Sanchez, Swanson pulled out with an injury.

Solid fight for the prelims.

Koch is really making a name for himself. I thought he would lose to Assuncao, but he KO'd him. His only loss was a somewhat close (but not really contentious) LNP decision to Chad Mendes, who is probably next in line for a title shot. If Koch puts a beating on Swanson, he'll probably be pretty close to a title shot himself.

Dumb if you ask me, Penn/Condit is a good match.

Penn/Condit would have sent this card through the roof.

Yeah, it's too bad Penn isn't fighting, but I think the writing was on the wall when they added Wandy vs. Leben.

With that, Ortiz vs. Bader, and Cruz vs. Faber, they have 3 UFC Countdown-able fights already.

I'm guessing they wait for Penn vs. Fitch II, as it's the fight that makes the most sense for both fighters right now. If they gave Penn another fight, they would have nothing for Fitch when he comes back.

Two solid fights there.

Kim just might be able to **** Condit to a decision win, and while a Kim vs. GSP fight seems ridiculous, he would have to be getting up there for a title shot...maybe one more big win away. Obviously Condit is already in the mix, and a win here could put him in that spot. Who knows what the title picture at WW will look like in a few months anyway.

Njokuani vs. Winner should be a nice little standup fight for the prelims. Hopefully it makes the broadcast if it ends up being good.

Another nice fight.

Were they supposed to fight before or something?..."Bowles vs. Mizugaki" sounds very familiar for some reason.
