Wells and Cashner to the DL...UGH!

Post#1 » by ramadden » Wed Apr 6, 2011 3:41 pm

Just when things were starting to look up and we got above .500:

Cubs' Wells, Cashner bound for disabled list

The back end of the Chicago Cubs rotation will be sidelined for at least two weeks as Randy Wells and Andrew Cashner will be placed on the disabled list.

Cashner has a mild strain in his rotator cuff after leaving Tuesday's start against the Arizona Diamondbacks with stiffness in his right shoulder. Wells has a right forearm strain.

Such is the life of being a Cubs fan I guess. *sigh

Looks like Coleman will be called up for one of the spots... I would like to see what Carpenter has but he's not on the 40 man so my next choice would be Diamond.

There's talk of stretching out Russell, which I dont like, but if that's the case then we call up a bullpen arm. Carirdad? Berg? Stevens? Maine? Coello?
Mc Nutt in ya face, biatch!

With the off days the team has coming up, they could get away with a sort of 4 man rotation for a while, so they might just need one starter called up.

I guess it's better to have this happen now (assuming the injuries won't be too serious) and have a healthy staff later in the season.
