I think Kyrie would be their preferred choice over DWill...

From the Wiz board, I get the impression that they want D-Will if they draft #1. If Cleveland's #2, they're going to take Irving.

I think the only teams who wouldn't have Irving atop their boards right now are Washington and Minnesota.

For Cleveland, its between Irving and Dwill and nobody else. If they have a choice, I'd imagine they would pick Dwill over Irving.

however, the lottery order will end up in an order that cant be predicted and will change everything.

If I'm CLE what would I rather have

Irving + T.Jones/Vesley (LAC pick)

Or

Williams + Walker/Knight (LAC pick)

I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

I just noticed that we have the same record as the Wizards at 21-56. Here are the games we have left:

April 06 - vs Cleveland
April 08 - @ Philadelphia
April 10 - vs New Jersey
April 11 - @ Milwaukee
April 13 - vs Miami

And here's Washington's schedule:

April 06 - @ Indiana
April 08 - @ Boston
April 09 - vs Atlanta
April 11 - vs Boston
April 13 - @ Cleveland

They have a tough schedule, but if we tank hard enough I think we can lose just as many games as them. I hope we continue to shut Barbosa down for the rest of the season. Get him healthy for next year while pushing the tank through the finish line.

They can go Valanciunas/Kanter with the Clipper pick too. Not bad considering the talent drop off is not much from 3rd to 8~10th

There's still the possibility of either of them trading their pick if they draft before us.

in terms of suitors...
Sacramento: Irving could be redundant, could be a fit next to Evans. Would CLE be interested in Evans for their two firsts or the #1/2 and a conditional pick?
Milwaukee: They might pass on him and go with D-Will.
Detroit, Utah, Houston... They could use him if they trade up.

Houston might not go with Irving because of how well Lowry's been playing. I think they go with Williams.
edit: just realized they have less than a percent chance of winning the lottery, so i guess it doesn't even matter lol

Chad Ford chat ongoing. I suggest you spam him with Raptors questions.

http://espn.go.com/sportsnation/chat/_/id/37779

Tony (Richmond, CA)

Chad, I saw Harrison Barnes rated in your Top 3. What are you hearing about when he'll decide, and if he'll enter the draft?

Chad Ford (1:24 PM)

I've been saying all year that he's leaning toward returning back to school. Ditto for John Henson. Sometimes that changes after the season when agents get in their ears. But from what I can gather, Barnes and Henson both are leaning toward returning. Things can change, but right now, I expect them both to return to North Carolina for another year of college ball.

chris (toronto)

Your bet for best pro in 5 yrs --- D Williams, H Barnes, or P Jones???

Chad Ford (1:30 PM)

Jones has the most upside. Derrick Williams is the most ready. But my vote would be Barnes in 5 years.

Another analyst saying the same thing I've been saying, Barnes seems like a very good prospect.

Guanio (Puerto Rico)

Better PG 5 years from now, Rubio or Irving and why?

Chad Ford (1:31 PM)

Tough call. Rubio's been awful this year, but most think he'll be much better in the NBA. Irving is a more traditional sort of NBA point guard. He's a much better shooter, quicker and has a more well rounded game. But Rubio does have special floor vision and size.

No it isn't, Chad

Quick question, how come the raptors have the 3rd pick (as of now) when we have the same record as Washington and the season series is split 2-2?

We don't have the 3rd pick as of now. If we finish tied with Washington, we'll split the lotto balls available to the 3rd/4th teams and if neither team wins, flip a coin to see who picks first.

Do folks around here think that Irving will be a 1st/2nd/3rd team all-NBA PG at full potential, or a 2nd-tier guy?

It sounds like a "Chris Paul and Rajon Rondo" comparison or something.
