Stay lean and build muscle ->carb cycling. High on days you work the muscles you want to get bigger, moderate on other work out days, and low on non-workout days.

I've got an article on carb cycling in general and carb cycling within a program I'm doing that is designed to help you build muscle to look like a ripped actor (Christian Thibaudeau made the program).

Add running to the carb cycling routine and you've got a great base to build lean muscle and not get bulky.

Yea no problem.

The article that includes program, and some carb cycling info, that I'm doing (good read): http://www.t-nation.com/free_online_article/sports_body_training_performance_interviews/20_pounds_of_hollywood_muscle

Program itself (I've completed it once before first term and I'm doing it again now): http://www.t-nation.com/portal_includes/articles/2006/06-021B-training.html

Carb cycling info (has information on how to calculate carbs/calories to fit your needs - you don't have to follow exactly what is said...just keep the same idea - high, moderate, low - and within the same amount of suggested stuff): http://www.t-nation.com/free_online_article/sports_body_training_performance/the_carb_cycling_codex

Diet info (it's part 3 but just below the title are parts 1 and 2 - read those before if you're interested):
http://www.t-nation.com/free_online_art ... n_part_iii

The amount of carbs/calories that you consume per day doesn't have to be exactly what the article says (you can adjust it to fit your needs - I've done that). The protein should be within the same because protein is needed to repair muscles (nobody knows how much protein is exactly needed per day, but everything I've read says that one needs 1-1.5g/lb - I also trained with one of the Yankees trainers last summer and he said the same thing).

You also don't need the extra stuff (creatine and they're protein) to do well with the program. I haven't bought anything from that site, nor the supplements that they suggested, and I've gotten great results.

Hope that helps.

PUSHUPS AND PULLUPS ARE THE BEST EXCERSISES YOU CAN DO. I do them daily, i go to the gym also, but i also do pushups daily. They work out your entire upper body. You need to do them untill you get your arms fatigued though. Try this

I will do a mix of close and wide grip pushups. Close for Triceps and Wide for your chest/back more. I will do as many as i can before i get fatigued. Meaning you keep going untill you can not do anymore. Then what i do afterwords is follow those with Girl pushups. Meaning you get on your knees and then do pushups.

Pull ups are another thing you can do which really work. Getting a pullup bar to fit on your door is not expensive at all.

Another thing i suggest you try doing is dips. Great for your triceps. I gtg now though, but ill be back later to offer more advice/suggestions if you reply to my post.

Edit: When you do your pushups, make sure you do a variety. Sometimes i will do them slowly, other times i will do them fast. Exploding up will offer you better results also. I also do clap pushups, which basically u go down, push up hard, then clap your hands. These will do alot for your strength.

This sounds like a plan for me and along the lines of what I've been doing. So a couple of questions....is it really good for me to do this type of work out every day? Or should I rest a bit throughout the week? And during this work out, how long should I go for? Continuous sets for about an hour sound about right? Should I count the pushups and work towards a goal for the day? For a certain set?

You can count if you want. Its good to use those numbers to see how you progress in terms of strength.

Continues sets for an hour would be best. What i suggest you do is do pushups and then give your self maybe a 2 min rest period and do some Crunches. If you have weights around the house, doing weighted crunches work great. Their are many variations of pushups that you can do, maybe start off doing standard pushups to get your strength up, then once you can get your reps up work on doing harder variations. If you have a resistance band adding that to pushups are a great workout also, and if you dont have one you can buy one for like 5-10 bucks.

If your somebody who doesnt work out alot and are just starting out, i would suggest starting to do them every other day or so. If you do what i say with doing the max pushups then following with girl pushups, you wont even be able to move your arms the next day. I promise you that.

And you dont even have to do them for an hour, to me that sounds kind of long, but its up to you. If you want to dedicate your time then all the power to you. What i suggest you do though is do them during a knicks game. Its the perfect time to do them since all your doing is sitting on the couch for 3 hours.

Pushups work your back/shoulders/triceps/foreamrs/wrists and abs. They are such a great/easy/simple workout. They really are an underate workout by many. Tonight just try what i said and tell me how you feel tomarrow, put that hour of constant work in tonight, and remember...no pain no gain. Its going to be tiring and painful and times, but if you push through it, it always pays off.

Edit: You might not even be able to go through a full hour before having to stop due to fatigue. Which is great. Just keep doing them untill phsycially you can no longer do them any longer. Itll get to a point where its impossible to push yourself up, then just do girl pushups. Just keep pushing untill your arms die. And the girl pushups are key to this. And always push your maximum.

Be real careful with the scalpers outside. I see people getting rejected at the turnstiles all the time with fake tickets. Use the knicks ticketexchange and wait till the last minute for people desperate to sell. Good luck.

I've seen a lot of people get turned down this season. There is a group of guys every Knicks game sacalping tickets. Walking around the garden you hear them say "Knicks Tickets".

They have been around all season so I am pretty sure those guys are legit.
