Only two players in this draft that have a chance of going number one. Perry really didn't do much at all this year, though will still go lotto. Kanter still have a great chance of being a top five pick without even playing. Jonas Valanciunas will probably take advantage of this potential lockout and end up going top five as well.

Barnes is the wildcard IMO. With Henson and Zeller returning it wouldn't shock me if he declared or returned. With his play down the stretch he pushed himself in the top five firmly. After this is really does become anyone's guess.

I realize Perry didn't have as huge a year as some thought, but you can't deny that kids potential. The dude is an athletic freak. He is so tall/quick/explosive it is insane. The guy is going to be a helluva player if he puts the effort and work in.

But i do agree, i think Kyrie will end up going number 1, i just dont think its as clear cut as people think.

Who has more potential, Perry or Barnes? Who showed more this year? I'm weary of Jones because I see a lot more Anthony Randolph/Tim Thomas then the next Tracy McGrady as he was dubbed. Now granted out of all the top prospects he is the one I watched least but I did read a lot about him. I also realize that his team was crap and his PG was utter crap. As far as not trading up for him, I don't see him as a fit for this team at all.

I don't think Irving is the clear cut, just him and Williams. No other player will go number one besides one of them. Williams thoroughly impressed everyone this year and carried his team in the tournament.

I do believe Barnes would go ahead of Jones, if both declared.
I do believe Kanter would go ahead of Jones, Kanter is one of the most impressive big men with his skills.

So essentially Irving-Williams-Barnes-Kanter to me are the safe bets to go ahead of him. Pending on where teams fall in the lotto, it's safe to say that either Vesely or Jonas will go here.

Jones 5-7 range IMO.

In terms of potential...Perry Jones IMO. I think he has the highest ceiling in this draft based on his height/length/athleticism alone. Dude is 6'10 /6'11 and has lebron james type athleticism. He isnt just a leaper, but he is quick and agilie too to go along with his hops. He is a bit raw, but the potential is there, and even if he doesnt reach his full potential, he will still have a heck of a career.

It all depends on the draft workouts. Hes probably to risky for the #1 pick though, Kyrie is the safer pick. Just trying to go against he consensus i guess lol.

I would also. I dont think Fields' value is going to get much higher than this. More and more its showing that he doesnt fit in well with Melo and Chauncey. I dont think a rookie wall has as much to do with it as people think. Fields should not be starting right now, and his ceiling doesnt seem very high. I would look to capitalize on the little hype he has left and try and nab a legit game changing prospect, of which I dont think Fields is. If thats Kanter, Valanciounas, Jones, or Knight lets get it done.

However if Biyombo or Noguiera are available at our pick I would just nab one of them and keep Fields though, but we'll see how they do in the Hoops Summit.

My safety net remains Markieff Morris. Would be very content with him. I think he could play some center for us and would be ready to step in right away.

I think it's a little more than ironic that Fields' wall started the day we dealt for Melo, and hasn't ended yet. He isn't getting the looks on the cuts that he used to, and I don't think the coaching staff want him cutting like he used to due to Melo. If we can trade him for a future PG via trade/draft, I wouldn't be too upset, and I'm a big Fields fan. Just wrong team/coach for him.

This is the guy I would want if we manage to move up into the meat and potatoes range...

(yes ironic the picture) but I think what Kanter offers that you really won't find elsewhere is the size, strength and skills to contribute right away as well as some serious upside where he could turn into the type of force that people said Cousins can. Unlike Cousins, Kanter doesn't appear to be a borderline nutjob.

I love me some Kanter, he reminds me of a Brook Lopez with actual skill. He actually uses his frame and is willing to bang down low. Crafty with the ball in his hands, good on the boards. I was robbed all year since he doesn't know what ineligible means.

Yup Kanter would be the main guy I would target as well. Only seen some clips of him but from everything Ive read hes exactly what we need. Theres no way he doesnt go top 5 though IMO, and its crazy how DX has him at like 8 right now.

Lets be honest though.... what team is going to give up the chance to draft Kanter for Landry Fields? Lets put the Kool Aid down and think about that. Landry is the man but come on now. Kanter >>>> Landry and the 17th pick. At best Landry might let us trade a few spots up, but def not top 5. Then again crazier things have happened.

Imagine a Melo, Amare, Kanter front court.... ejaculation.

Not counting Blake since he wasn't a member of our class, Landry has been arguably the 2nd/3rd best rookie in his draft class. Add to that the fact that he was a member of a much stronger draft (at the time) I think he along with Dougie can get us a pick around 7-10, where we can keep our 16th pick, and have a mid lotto pick. Mike Miller and Randy Foye fetched the #5 overall pick in a much deeper draft, and they were both veteran expirings, and Fields>Miller Dougie>Foye.

I'm excited that of the top 5 teams in the lottery, none of them are in the pacific time zone. It would severely limit how often I would be able to watch Irving tear it up. He should go to Cleveland, and they should make him wear #23.

The Anaheim Royals are the 5th worse team in the league record wise...

oops, well I don't think they would draft Irving though. They need an elite wing badly. Barnes would be a good fit for them.

According to sources the game will be broadcast nationally by Fox Sports Net (Saturday April 9th at 7PM) and its regional affiliates (good news). Depending on which cable service you have you may be screwed (bad news). Will be interesting in that both Nogueira AND Biyombo will be playing on the World Select team.

By the way, that's MSG+ for most of New York and NJ, and 10:30 for the east coast (the 7:30 time is for Oregon, where they are playing). Lucas, Biyombo and Austin Rivers should be playing, among others.

I had that same thought process, he would fit in fine with them, but if they happen to get the number 1 pick, you never know.
