Utah Jazz 2011/12 Season Questions
What do you see happening?
Kirilenko is a FA. Will they bring him back?
Okur should be healthy. WIll they keep him on the roster?
Harris a definite Jazz member in the 2011/12 season?
Hayward and Favors. Do these kids get the bump in minutes and get a lot more responsibility?

Re: Utah Jazz 2011/12 Season Questions
AK-47 is gone.
Okur becomes Jazz 9th man
Harris is our PG which maybe good or bad
Hayward and Favors start with MIllsap at SF and Jefferson at C with Hayward at SG
The Jazz are the 8th seed in the playoffs and it will be fun to watch this team grow together.

Re: Utah Jazz 2011/12 Season Questions
Goodbye AK - too many missed games, too much inconsistency and the Jazz have Hayward.
Okur will probably be on the team but in a supplementary role.
Harris will be here and get better with the Jazz. If we luck out and draft Irving he may gradually be zoned out and traded next off-season.
And yeah, Hayward and Favors will definitely be getting more minutes and become more productive. I think Hayward will become a main cog in the starting lineup. Favors will eventually make Millsap or Jefferson expendable, and good trade bait.

Re: Utah Jazz 2011/12 Season Questions
AK is gone....... There's no need to bring him back.....
I could see Memo being traded for cap relief along with our later lottery pick...... If not, I think he can make a contribution next season.....
Harris will definitely be in Utah, unless we draft a PG...... And I don't think we will...... Watson will continue to back him up......
Hayward will be a starter next season..... Favors will also see an increase in playing time, but unless Millsap is traded, he is not going to be a fulltime starter......

Re: Utah Jazz 2011/12 Season Questions
Okur is untradable. Hopefully he bounces back to bolster our front line. The good thing about his contract is that it's not holding back a contender. It expires at the right time for the Jazz to make more moves to continue their gradual improvement.
I'm not sure what will happen with AK. I wouldn't be surprised if he stayed or left. His expiring contract will give the Jazz flexibility moving forward.
Harris is a top-10 PG. There is no reason to replace him or trade him. If the Jazz have an opportunity to take Irving, then ok. But if not, they will be just fine with Harris moving forward. At this point, he is valuable to the core of the team. His ability to get to the FT line will be a boon for the Jazz for years to come.
Hayward and Favors will both start next season. Next year is going to be a blast.

Re: Utah Jazz 2011/12 Season Questions
I'd rather have AK at $7M than CJ at $3.7M. Anything more for AK and I'd let him go.
Al Jefferson had a really impressive 5-week run after the All-Star break, but when his shot isn't falling he really struggles to contribute in any way. I know I've gone back and forth a lot on the Millsap/Jefferson thing, but right now I'd look to move Jefferson before Millsap -- not that the Jazz necessarily have to do either. I don't think that having both of those guys is inhibiting Favors' development. If anything it should push him to show that he can be more effective then them.
I don't think Devin Harris can be the prototypical Jazz point guard, but I think he can still be good in their current system. As many have suggested I'd like to see Hayward and others initiate the offense more frequently.

Re: Utah Jazz 2011/12 Season Questions
Yeah, PG isn't some huge problem that needs to be solved. Harris is a quality player. Short of a sure thing like Irving, we don't need to be drafting -- or furiously pursuing through trade -- a replacement for him.
I REALLY like this team, boys. Add a couple lottery picks, and have a little more luck with guys' health (yeah, yeah, I know...), and they won't be watching the first round on TV next May; they'll be playing. Assuming the entire NBA isn't sitting at home waiting on a Billy Hunter conference call.
I'd like to see AK back. HP's figure of $7 million seems fair. I can't see anyone offering him more than that, and I can't see AK going to another team if Utah at least matches other teams' offers.

Okur isn't untradeable, as bad as the contract looks, any expiring contract is worth looking at.

Re: Utah Jazz 2011/12 Season Questions
I am still totally against moving either Jefferson or Millsap. It makes no sense to me. If the Jazz can have a roster like this, you don't **** with it. There's a lot of versatility that makes it damn near impossible for the Jazz to have matchup problems, an assload of potential, and a lot of basketball IQ. I think you keep C.J. for 3.7, try to sign Kirilenko for a reasonable deal, and trade Bell for a second round pick or one of those euros that will never make it over.
Harris/Watson/Price maybe Weaver
Hayward/Miles/Draft Pick
Millsap/Kirilenko/Hayward
Jefferson/Millsap/Favors/Kirilenko
Favors/Okur/Jefferson/Tomic

Hayward/Miles/Draft Pick
Millsap/Kirilenko/Hayward
Jefferson/Millsap/Favors/Kirilenko
Favors/Okur/Jefferson/Tomic

Yeah, why are people so desperate to move Millsap or Jefferson? Why break up what could be the best big man rotation in the league?

Doesn't mean he is planning on leaving. It makes sense to get potential buyers looking at it now in case he doesn't end up coming back. Just because it's listed doesn't mean he is going to sell it.
Such a white house...like seriously, really white.

True, but probably untradeable this summer. We'll probably have him until at least the deadline.

Without a CBA, everyone will be untradeable this summer.

Don't trade Millsap/Jefferson/Favors. I've been waiting years for this type of frontcourt.

It's huge! The good thing about it Millsap is so versatile and can play small when needed. It will be an interesting year.

Re: Utah Jazz 2011/12 Season Questions
we need to change playbooks. We still run the same sets and so on.
I would like to see more pick'n'roll with favors.
More ISO for Harris and Hayward. More new offensive calls.
Cause we still run Sloan's offense.

Re: Utah Jazz 2011/12 Season Questions
There's nothing wrong with Sloan's offense and I think it'll be really good for this team considering the majority of the talent is in the frontcourt. The defense however needs a total makeover.

Agree. Not to drag Jimmer into every thread, but this is the main reason I don't want the Jazz drafting him: they need to get better defensively, not worse.
