This is an absolutely horrible trade.. We can get under-sized PF's anywhere. Hell Samuels in cleveland could be had for a 3rd of Millsap's salary. Look at who he can and can't guard over here in the east. A 7-8mil bench player is not necessary for this team.
You don't trade starters for bench players.

Would Paul Millsap, CJ Miles, and Enes Kanter look better for Iguodala?[/quote]

I would consider that a fantastic return for Iggy. More than likely your gm and fanbase would think that is too much to give up. We would likely have to include our pick and probably more to make that a fair swap.

This is a deal that I could go for.. Kanter could solidify the 5 position.
Sap could be shipped out for additional pieces
Miles - Thad can battle for the 3 position

Bench player? Milsap is a very good forward in this league. I take it you don't know basketball.

He is averaging 17 and 8. Not bad and a lot better then Iggy. He dropped 46 against the Heat also.

And this is why he hasn't been traded. He isn't worth this much. take in consideration that Iggys contract is horrible.

And this year they won't make the playoffs... His stats are primarily empty .. Put him here and who is he gonna stop in the east PF wise? How is he gonna be effective on a team with no shooters to spread the floor? There is a reason he wasn't a high level draft pick. Sap is a 3rd option player offensively at best and defensively he tries hard. He has good numbers on a losing team. Utah backed the wrong player when they paid him.

Woah, F-stop, I don't agree with your assessment on Millsap. Don't act like before the Deron Williams trade that the Jazz weren't in the playoffs. Millsapp has been insanely efficient (19.8 PER) and has an impressive true shooting percentage (.578) considering how many jumpshots he's taken this year. His hustle game and pure rebounding is still top of the line among PF's.

Yeah, Millsap is a very good player, probably close to being equal to Iguodala overall. He's not such a good rebounder, though. At least not in the last couple years. He was better in 08-09.

In his defense, he was getting almost 4 offensive rebounds a game that year. That allowed his total rebound numbers to stay high. Now that he's a focal point of the offense, he's not in position to grab some of the opportunistic boards that he was used to getting. It's not that he's worse of a rebounder. His role has just expanded to where he's not floating around the rim looking to board like he used to.

He's averaging 8 rebounds per 36 minutes, which isn't good.

His track record proves he's a good rebounder when his role calls upon him to be one.

I'm not saying that he isn't a good player.. Just not at the level Iggy is at. Take a look at the time line and compare to his expanded role. As he has become more of the focus the wins have come less and less. Also who can he pressure/slow down/stop in the east? He doesn't have the offense to force other teams to foul him thus the Amare's, J-Smooth, Horford, Boozer's remain on the floor. Now take it too the other end and how is he gonna stop them? Look at the dominate teams in the league and all you see is long front-courts. This is one of the reasons why they dominate. Under-sized is for the bench..

He had a expanded role the moment they let Boozer go lol. They were 31-26 despite all the Jerry Sloan drama and then they traded Deron Williams and it all went to hell.

And I don't agree that Iguodala is on a higher caliber as a player than Millsap. 'Sap has been highly efficient and actually has contributed more in win shares than Iguodala has this year.

I understand if you would rather keep Iguodala, but don't try to blow out Millsap's candle to make Iguodala's seem brighter.

start with this ---
I like Sap and if we can get Kanter/Sap/Miles for Iggy you do it.

Now on to Sap
That is not what I am saying.. I am trying to convey that Sap although a hard worker is not starter material. Sap cannot stop the guys I mentioned earlier with his defense. Offense he is not adept enough to get people to foul him so they go to the bench. 6ers need a center due to what we have right now. Sap is not a good fit here at this time.

Since the Utah madness ended the Jazz are 6-15. 3-13 when Sap played so although efficient they haven't won. 6ers have just gotten back on the map with 3 play-off appearances in the last 4yrs. This team needs starter level players not player who start because there was no one better at the time. If Okur and Al were healthy Sap would have been coming off the bench.

If he's not starter material, how do you explain him dropping 17.5 and 7.7 with a 19+ PER?

And Utah's record is irrelevant in this discussion. They lost the best PG in the NBA and they lost one of the longest tenured coaches in the league. Millsap is playing and producing the same numbers he was when their team was intact and in the playoffs.

PER looks nice but how does Sap fit here.

Sap is a 7-8mil player that would come off the bench here. 6ers have 3-4 starter level players. Last thing we need is another bench man. We cannot run a Brand 6'8 Sap 6'7 Thad 6'8 line-up out onto the court and expect to be competitive. Now if we can obtain Kanter along w Sap and Miles we could have possibly solved our front court height issue.

Some people just don't get it. Milsap is a better player in many ways then Iggy. But Milsap is a solid 6'8 PF like Brand.

I guess you mean me so I guess I will elaborate..
Sap on the 6ers would be a 7.5 mil backup. Brand-Sap-Thad front-court is not a formula for success. 6ers are a playoff team and have to have length to compete. 6ers cannot trot that front court out there an expect to win.

Please enlighten me SJSF on how Sap is in so many ways better than Iggy??

I have also agreed that the proposed trade were we acquire Katner-Sap-Miles for Iggy would be a good trade for us. It gives us a center albeit young. Sap & Miles could be forwarded along for additional pieces. I don't think either one of them would like to come off the bench here.

Milsap doesn't make this team any longer/better...Jason Thompson, despite lower 'numbers' is a much better acquisition than Milsap due to what he brings to this team. Milsap is a nice player, but the Sixers have a similar undersized type player, and that really isn't a position you need to duplicate on a roster. I'll take two Michael Jordans, but we aren't getting a star of that magnitude.

I guess some people just don't get it.. 23mil locked into the PF position Brand-16 Sap-7.5 with no real Starter material at Center

C'mon son, is this a serious post? I am 100% for getting JT because I like what he brings to the team. But saying he would be a better acquisition than Millsap is asinine. Millsap is a near all star bigman that can shoot lights out from midrange and score inside. He's also a tough hustle player. He's a whole nother caliber of player than JT.
