Re: Min @ NYY
I rarely criticize Girardi but Sabathia gave up 3 hits all in the 1st 2 innings, not to mention the fact that we don't have an off day til monday, the bullpen should have been spared, especially soriano.. Sabathia should have pitched the 8th.
That's Girardi's biggest weakness.. he over-manages. This isn't new.

It was a double. And I've seen it plenty.

I got $35 million reasons to put Rafael Soriano out there...You go with your best and you shut down the AL Central's most consistent playoff team of the last decade. Unfortunately Soriano had a bad game and that's going to happen from time to time.
Look, the Twins are no push overs...but if the Yanks can take 2 out of three, how can anyone argue?
and before anyone gets crazy, the Yanks will lose a series and will sweep and be swept before the season is said and done. Nothing is won in April. That's why I don't put ANY stock in the Sox being 0-4. Means NOTHING right now.

It's a 4 game series.

He doesn't talk to reporters. He's a **** even when he was in Atlanta. That's fine so long as he gets the job done.
I'm going to have to respectfully disagree. The Yanks were impartial to winning the division last season because first round vs. the Twins in a FIVE game set favored them vs. the Rangers with Cliff Lee. Certainly the difference between getting to the ALCS vs bowing out in the first round as AL East winner Tampa was crushed.
Interesting isn't it that Tampa and Boston are 0-4?
I always evaluate teams every 10 games. Again, this is not a 16 game season. It's not an 82 game season. It is a 162 game season.
So let's not get crazy when Hughes has a bad start or the Yanks bullpen blows a lead. Guys in BOTH losses, the Yanks were fighters all the way. I can LIVE with a 10th inning loss...and yes, there will be slug fests.
Now, let's see if AJ can put together two back to back starts. As the canary in the coal mine, I said AJ has the BEST stuff on the Yanks. I stand by it. He was going through a divorce through out last season. I think he's over it and he'll be fine.

I loved all the hysteria on whether or not Soriano was a NY guy. Mike Mussina did NOT like NYC nor did he like talking to the press. He could certainly pitch well here. a bounce back game, Soriano was fine. Joba is looking good in the 7th. Scary part is Feliciano hasn't played yet (and might not if the reports about his arm are true).
How are those EXPERT ESPN writers who ALL picked the Red Sox to come out of the EAST to the WS? This is why you play the games.

How's that Manny and Damon signing paying off Joe Maddon? How about that stellar Rays pitching?
