I'll only stay if Yormark changes the name to the Not-Nets. Or Zombie-Nets.

Re: Random Thoughts Thread II
So I'm in a trade tournament, and crafted this trade. The object is to make the T-Wolves into a play-off team next season.
Min out- the number 3 pick, Webstor, Beasley, Peckovic, Johnson, Flynn and Ellington.
Min in- Morrow, Bogut, Salmons, and Dorrell Wright.
Mil out- Salmons and Bogut
Mil in- Beasley, Peckovic, Udoh, and the number 10 pick.
GSW out- Udoh, Wright, and the number 10 pick.
GSW in- the number 3 pick, Flynn, and Webstor.
NJN out- Morrow
NJN in- Johnson and Ellington.
Don't critique or comment on whether you would do the trade from a Nets perspective, simply tell me how on or off the value is for all the other teams in your opinion. Flame on!

Re: Random Thoughts Thread II
You gave up a LOT, last years #4 pick, This years #3, Beasley, Peckovic and Flynn is too much for Bogut IMO. Morrow and Wright are nice role players but they won't elevate the wolves from lottery to playoffs. And Salmons has a terrible contract also.

Yup, I agree with that idea, as well. Most of them were throw ins because the Wolves don't have their cap space yet, so I needed to add them to push the trade through in the trade machine.

Re: Random Thoughts Thread II
It's a little bit of an overpay from the Wolves, but I honestly don't think it's as bad as it looks on the surface, it's actually something they would have to consider.
GSW makes out pretty damn good.
Love it for NJ.
Solid for Milwaukee, but I'm leaning towards, why wouldn't they just cut everyone but Minny out of it and take something like Beasley, the 3rd overall pick and salary filler for Bogut and Salmons?

Re: Random Thoughts Thread II
Yup, agreed on your Milwaukee point, Vince. I've retooled it with the Wolves, Warriors, Grizz and Bucks, taking the Nets out.
The object, I'm thinking, is to have a shooter at the 2 or 3 to compliment Rubio, and another ball handler at the other swing position. In a perfect world, it would be:
Rubio
Morrow
Iggy
Love
Bogut
Solid team, not a contender, but a decent seeded team. However, I can't get the salaries to work, so I'm trying to find a lesser cost guy.
Now, I'm looking for this line up:
Rubio
Mayo
Wright
Love
Bogut

Re: Random Thoughts Thread II
I think I'm close to settling on this trade. I don't love it, but it's reasonable.
T-Wolves get- Dorrell Wright, OJ Mayo, Ekpe Udoh, Andrew Bogut, and Drew Gooden
T-Wolves give- Tolliver, Webster, Beasley, Flynn, Peckovic, Ellington, the 3rd pick, and the Grizzlies pick.
Warriors get- Tolliver, Vasquez, and the 3rd pick.
Warriors give- Wright, Udoh, Lin, and the 10th pick.
Grizzlies get- Ellington, Webster, and their own pick back.
Grizzlies give- Mayo and Vasquez
Bucks get- Beasley, Flynn, Peckovic, and the 10th pick.
Bucks give- Bogut and Gooden.
T-Wolves end up with this lineup-
Rubio/Ridnour
Mayo/Johnson
Wright/Johnson
Love/Randolph/Udoh
Bogut/Millicic
I wish I could swing Udoh and Mayo for Igoudala.

I like it all around.
I still have to question how Milwaukee would feel about it. They would want to cut everyone else out, but then again, Minny isn't going to want to do that because they lose a ton of value and incoming solid players in Mayo and Dorrell Wright.
Not too shabby.

The Bucks problem is the main problem that I've been facing. I decided to try and placate any qualms from the Bucks with having them get rid of Gooden, which while cheaper than Salmons, is a more terrible contract because he sucks.

Just saw this gem:
Oh the ironing.....Considering that 2 of their "stars" satisfies both criteria.

Someone said he was playing so well before because he was "getting so much" before. It was a funny theory but I didn't believe them. His wife leaves along with all of the mistresses and he plays like crap. Ironically, Tiger has just started dating again and look at what he's doing now? Before he started playing today and he was like 7 shots back, he said that he still felt like he could win. How does someone who's that far back think they can win? Maybe he got his "Tiger" back last night and feels confident now lol.

Re: Random Thoughts Thread II
Okay, whose trade is better: mine or this one? Should I work out a new trade since the trades are nearly identical.
Trade 1:
Min trades: Milicic, W.Johnson, Pekovic, Ridnour, #3
Min gets: Bogut, Salmons, A.Johnson
Mil trades: Bogut, Salmons
Mil gets: Camby, Milicic, Johnson, #3
Por trades: Camby, Johnson
Por gets: Pekovic, Ridnour
- Minnesota's main targets this offseason should be C and SG. In this trade they get a top-C with Bogut to play next to Love. They give a lot with Johnson + Pick #3 and they take on Salmons, but this is needed + they don't use all of their capspace for that.. they trade their roleplayers and still have capspace after that trade for other trades during the season or to sign FA's
- Milwaukee decides to trade Bogut, because of not making the playoffs this season and because they get very good return here to retool with gettin rid of Salmons, getting a top-pick (they can pick Kanter for the 5-position), Milicic and Johnson + Camby. Wasn't there a rumor that Camby would retire when he's traded again? This would be awesome for Mil (saving 12mio this season). Otherwise it's still nice, because of their '12 exps + they would be a playoff team with that roster.
- Portland downgrades from Camby to Pek, but Pek ist still very young, and they also get a Back-Up PG in Ridnour (they need one) + they save 3,5mio.
Trade 2:
Min trades: Flynn, #19
Min gets. Mayo
Mem trades: Mayo
Mem gets: Flynn, #19
- Min still needs a SG. With that trade they get Mayo to be Rubio's backcourt partner for the next decade. - I think this offer is better than #15 + McRoberts for Mem. With Vazquez being more of a SG, Williams being old + crap, they can use a young PG like Flynn as Conley's backup. With the Pick #19 (they get their own pick back) they pick a young big.. for example Faried
Minnesota Roster after the 2 trades:
Rubio/(FA)/A.Johnson
Mayo/Salmons/Ellington
Beasley/Webster/Hayward
Love/Randolph/(FA)
Bogut/Tolliver/(FA)
It looks very good imo. It's maybe still not a playoff team, but I think a very good start and they should go into the season with that roster. If Rubio plays bad, I could see them making a run at Nash to mentor him. This could be possible if Phx sucks the next season
