OT: Twitter Thread

Post#1 » by LUKE23 » Tue Apr 5, 2011 5:50 pm

Hello, everyone but Newz please respond to this. :D

I've recently joined twitter, and know nothing about it. I know we had a thread like this somewhere else but couldn't find it. I was just wondering the best guys to follow for:

Packers
Bucks
Brewers
Badger BB
Badger FB

Thanks in advance.

OH I'LL RESPOND! :D

I would definitely get Chuck's list of people and DB's. I believe I pretty much just copy and pasted the guys they followed. Now I don't really have to look anywhere but the smart phone for sporting news, so it's pretty awesome.

Clay pretty much lists all the Packers on Twitter in a series of tweets. You can pick and choose which players you want to follow. A lot of them don't say much worth reading.

All of the NFP guys are on twitter, they are good guys to follow.

It's getting to the point where most reporters/analysts are on twitter. I usually just google the person's name and include "twitter" in the search to find out what their twitter name is. Just make sure they have the verified blue check next to their name.

EDIT: I'd also suggest @ESPN_NFCNBLOG and @ESPN_BIGTEN.

Eh, most of the people I follow aren't verified. Just check their timeline and you can get an idea if they're legit. I've been on the site a couple years and I haven't been burned by a fake account.

Yeah, it's usually pretty easy to tell if it's a real person or not. I guess I just wanted to point out what the blue check meant and that he should look for it.

I don't know if you are a fan of Jason Whitlock but he is one of the more entertaining people I follow. His name is @WhitlockJason.

I follow him, but it's really out of morbid curiosity. The guy spews so. much. ****. His college football crusade lately is so incredibly stupid.

When I first got on twittter, I followed alot of players, and it was interesting at first. Then I just became irritated paging through their rambling tweets about nothing. I just use it now to follow reporters and writers who link to their new articles. For example, I would follow Jason Wilde for Packers news and he already follows all the Packers on twitter and he retweets pretty much anything they say that's interesting.

Some athletes are totally worth following. Some make you want to blind yourself.

It's funny you singled out Wilde as a good person to follow, I stopped following him because he was just as annoying as players. He tweeted way too much about his kids and other things going on in his personal life that I could care less about.

I agree he can get annoying as well, but I'd rather follow one annoying person who follows all the players and weeds through their posts for me. He serves a purpose for me.

Every time I'm considering dropping Wilde he presents something useful/entertaining. For the most part picking up athletes to follow has be fail after fail. I still follow Clay, Bogut, and ARod. I recently subscribed to @Tony_Plush...he's been golden thus far.

Tony_Plush Tony Plush
Tony Plush doesn't like to have to slide on triples. Dirty pants are unseemly. #PlushStyleTips

Tony_Plush Tony Plush
The wispy dirt-beard on Matt Garza’s chin is offending Tony Plush’s sensibilities. It is hard to look at. #PlushStyleTips

Tony_Plush Tony Plush
Tony Plush has just been informed Brian Anderson said "And Tony Plush scores!" The Plushvolution can not, and will not, be stopped.

I made it so I don't see RT from Packer players. It really cleaned up my timeline a lot to not see, "Hey can I get a RT for my bday!!!" or some other stupid ass ****.

Return to Green Bay Packers
