Re: post all-star stats for the young guys
Pretty solid numbers from the young guys. Silas has already talked about wanting to have workouts prior to a potential lockout and specifically mentioned working on Hendo's handles. Henderson himself has said he wants to work on a more consistent shot, his range, and his handles. I have FULL confidence Henderson will work on all 3, and will come out as a different player next year. I think he is a guy that we can expect to get close to 16 a game and be a go to guy in the 4th. DJ is the big question mark. 15 and 6 is not bad by any means. But he was far too inconsistent. Some games he goes for 20 then other he goes for 5. We need him to be more consistent, especially considering the fact for a large chunk of the second half we were depending on him to score, and he couldn't come through. I still think that DJ CAN be our starting PG, but we just need more consistency. I would look for that back court to score a combined 30-34 ppg next season. It will be key what we can find as a back-up to Hendo, we really need a scorer there.
Cunningham and DJW I think have proved they will be good assets off that bench for the future. S ilas wants them to attend the summer league, which hopefully they will embrace and continue to improve. First though, I hope we can keep Cunningham. I think that with a full offseason as starters under their belt, coming into next season I think the lineup of DJ/Hendo/Jack/Diaw/Kwame might be good enough to challenge for the playoff spot. It really henges on Hendo. Luckily for us, though, we have 3 picks coming our way and cap space so we can really improve.

We need more talent, period. We're not as far off as you'd think. But picking up one of Kemba/Kyrie/Knight in the draft might really solidify our back-court. I'd look to upgrade C/PF from there. SF is the easiest spot to fill down the road for then Jax is gone.

Re: post all-star stats for the young guys
I think that Hendo could become like a Rip Hamilton type player. We use screens to get him open looks and he can knock down the three, but it is a small part of his game. I do not think Hendo needs to become the next Dorrell Wright and just jack threes, but it would be nice to see him take at least 2 a game and knock down one or two a game.
DJ should try and work on his pull up three pointer. If he could get a pull up three like Chauncey then he would be tough to guard because he is so fast. Also, he needs to work on that off the dribble fade away he takes because he never makes it. I think if he wants to and he becomes more consistent he can be a top 15 point guard.

Re: post all-star stats for the young guys
areas for each player to work on
hendo
- handles
- left hand
- 3pt shot
- getting to ft line
= would like to see hendo take that next step as a scorer. he needs to expect to be a major scoring option for us next year and embrace that role. he has to learn to drive to the basket and find ways to get to the ft line more often. defensively, just continue frustrating opponents and develop a defensive rep with refs so he gets away with more
dj
- floater/runner
- finishing w/ left hand
- defense
- consistency
= has to learn to become more consistent if he really wants to become a long term option at point. keep working on defense to go from awful to at least slightly below average. has to develop that in-between game off the dribble since he is too small to finish at the rim in traffic.
cunningham
- reading defense as a sf
- offense off dribble
- 3pt range
= will most likely be a role player off the bench. could stand to add another element to his offensive game so he is more than just a catch a shoot guy from 18 feet. would love to see him extend his range out to 3pt line. he has to make the transition from tweener pf to sf, both offensively and defensively. as slam has pointed out, he struggled at times recognizing his defensive assignments as a sf.
white
- post game/back to basket moves
- post defense
- strength
= would like to see white impose his will on games a little more. pfs should be felt on the court, not blend into background. both offensively and defensively would like to see him become more aggressive in the paint.
temple
- 3pt shot
- mid range shot
- close up shot
= realistically temple's future is most likely that of a defensive pg. he has the size and quickness to really harass opposing guards. he should focus on that niche and work on a consistent shot so he isnt a liability on offense while he is in the game.

Re: post all-star stats for the young guys
If Henderson works as hard on improving his handle as he did with his jumpshot, he'd be capable of putting up 17-18ppg next season. Probably the reason he doesn't attack the rim more, is because of his lack of elite ball handling. That would add another dimension to his scoring ability, coming off curls and double screens, as opposed to pulling up for 17ft jumpers all night.
It would be good if in the off season all he used was his left hand in layup drills.
Since he studies Kobe tape, studying Kobe's footwork would be huge to his development as well, wouldn't hurt if he studied MJ's footwork at the same time.
I think Henderson's looking to break out next season.

Re: post all-star stats for the young guys
priorities for our young players in the off-season
DJ Augustin
1st) DEFENSE!!!! I think this should be DJ's first priority in the off-season is to work on his man to man defense, pick and roll defense, and low post defense.. I think hes so incosistent because he loses confidence when the opponents PG roasts him on defense which translates to his offensive inconsistency.. If u notice he usually has good games when he plays a PG he can guard..
If Kyle Lowry can be an elite PG defender, theres no reason that DJ can't be, they're the same height, and DJ is probably quicker
2nd) Hit the weight room and gain lbs in muscles, preferably lower body, so he can contain bigger PG's when they try to post him up
3)would like stephan silas& dell curry to work with him one on one
Gerald Henderson
1)Isolation/Ball Handling/Driving in the lane - I think this should be his first priority over a 3pt shot, will open up his game.. and then once he improves this aspect of his game, he needs to work on his range.. I really hope MJ takes the time out and works with him 1 on 1 over the summer
2) 3pt Range... self explanatory
Dante Cunningham
1)add 3pt range
2) DEFENSE
Tyrus Thomas
1)become more level handed
2)work on flexibility, which will reduce injuries
3)gain weight in muscle
4)would like oakley to work with him one on one
DJWhite
1)develop a post game
2)work on defense
3) would like for silas to work with him one on one
