Thank you.
If Tim Grover could help Kanter with his athleticism he could be beastly.
Does anyone know his ÙS high schoo stats? I keep reading that he played in the states for I think a year in high school

Given the way the young core of this team is currently shaping up, if Derrick Williams can defend the SF spot I'd love to see him as a Raptor. He finished his freshmen year with the 7th best 3 point shooting percentage of all time. I don't see this David West stuff myself. I'm seeing more of a Shawn Marion type with a better 3 point shot and Blake Griffin's motor and intensity and I think he'd fit right in here.

The question is... can he defend the SF spot adequately or not though... 'cause I'm less sold on him as a traditional 4. I like Ed Davis just fine there.

It was his sophomore season actually, but yeah he's a top 2 talent with chance to go #1 depending on who wins the lottery. He'd be crazy to not declare IMO

I agree, Just seems like a bad idea.

It is not just dropping 4 spots for Stuckey...it is also getting rid of Calderon's contract. This frees up more cash to sign FA (the dream of Chandler and Gasol). If Barnes does not declare, and gone top three are Irving, Williams and Kanter, I like this idea.

...though I highly doubt Detroit would do this deal in the first place.

Would anyone here take Williams over Irving? I was just curious. I am inclined to think that I would take Williams over Irving, because, frankly, I don't think Irving is going to be as good as everyone thinks, and even if Williams didn't fill out his potential, he would still be a very valuable player with his explosiveness, toughness, and 3-point shooting. Thoughts?

Agree. The only reason I can see the need to draft Williams is if he is going to play SF. I am not sure if he will be able to defend the 3 at the NBA level.
But, I also do not believe he will make it past the top 2 so Raps would have to get a few ping pong balls dropping for them.

I agree. If Williams can play the three.. I think hes going to be the surprise best player in this draft.

No ...we don't need power forward unless its Sullinger...

Raps board should

1) Irving

2) Kemba Walker
3) Barnes Harrison
4) Perry Jones( he can play the 3 in the nba with his ball handling ...Raashard Lewis)
5) Derrick William ( if he can play the 3)
6) Kanter( Don't know much about him)
7) Brandon Knight ( His handles are weak for PG ...but still he is the third best point guard in the draft)

I'd put Barnes ahead of Walker imo

I think I would take Williams over Irving. Williams is the more ready player and showed me he was a franchise type player in the NCAA tourney. I would be ecstatic if we landed Williams. The comparisons of Marion are accurate, but he's more intense and has better leadership qualities.

I am on the Derrick Williams train 110%

1) Irving
2) Barnes
3-4) Derrick Williams/Kanter..can't decide, need to see more of Kanter besides youtube highlights. I'm not a huge fan of Derrick Williams so I'd lean towards Kanter. Don't think Williams can play the 3 in the NBA.

I think I'd take Williams 2nd, over Barnes. Regardless if he can consistently play defense at the 3, he seems to be a great help player, always looking for the block, as well as being a great rebounder on both ends.

I have this idea that if James Johnson can play 3 in the NBA so can Derrick Williams since they're similar size wise. D-Will proved a lot to me in the tournament. The simple fact that Coach K couldn't shut him down excited me. I think he'll be quick enough. Either way, the Raps need to get a shot blocking Centre beside Ed which would provide us with a intimidating front line of Williams/Davis/Centre? Just play a 2-3 zone the majority of the time and the interior defense would be absolutely lock down.

Same. I think he can be a super rich man's James Johnson.
If GMs decide that he can play the SF, he's a #1 pick.
