I didn't think Sportsnet would hire him. Glad they did. Manny can work in radio for all I care.

Did Zaun ever chime in on Manny? They might have to do a couple of takes so he keeps a straight face.

I think it's really sad that he's going to go out this way. Obviously he cheated and that's wrong, but honestly it's going to have very little effect on my perception of him in the long run. Manny Ramirez is still one of the greatest hitters of our era, period.

I think most people, including myself, wanted Manny because he was going to come dirt cheap and potentially put up good numbers (at least OBP which is what the Jays lack in). Hell, the Jays are paying EE more than Manny got. Turns out, Manny screwed up again. AA once again shows incredible foresight.

Buster Olney was on Sports Center and he was asked if Manny would make the HOF, and Buster said no due to the 2nd time being caught, and I believe Olney is a HOF voter. We may not see Manny in the HOF for a long time, if at all. Shame because he was one of the best hitters of his generation.

•In his Insider-only blog post, ESPN's Buster Olney spoke to some executives that said Manny Ramirez's reported PED use may have altered the future of former Diamondbacks GM Josh Byrnes and manager Bob Melvin. Arizona led the NL West for most of the 2008 season, but were knocked out of postseason race when the Dodgers made a late charge after acquiring Manny at the deadline.

Manny certainly wasn't the only PED user on that Dodgers team, he was just the only one that was caught. You'd also be ignoring that some of the players on the DBacks were also likely using some kind of PED. A bit of a useless discussion, really.

And what does any of that have to do with lying?

Kind of like cheating on your wife, but you're not lying because you never discussed it.

What's worse, telling a lie or living a lie?

I'm not one of those types of people who excuses cheaters because of the era they played in, or any of that other nonsensical gibberish. If you cheat you should be punished. If you cheat multiple times, it will cost you your career, potential HoF induction ceremonies, and so on.

Don't like it? Don't cheat.

Taking a PED in professional baseball is not equivalent to either of those things. Manny never lied to anybody. And you would hope, considering all the knowledge we have about the history of PED use in baseball, that his fans wouldn't have been naive enough to think that he never used.

Sounds like Manny rolled the dice one to many times. Should have packed it in this offseason, but easy for me to say. I don't think these guys think enough about their reputations and implications of getting caught.

Very costly error here!
