Irving
Williams
Valanciunas
Kanter ?
Barnes
Walker
Jones III

I could easily sour on Kanter. I'm going off what little I've seen and scout's opinions.

I am inclined to think that I would take Williams over Irving, because, frankly, I don't think Irving is going to be as good as everyone thinks, and even if Williams didn't fill out his potential, he would still be a very valuable player with his explosiveness, toughness, and 3-point shooting. Thoughts?

I think I would take Williams over Irving. Williams is the more ready player and showed me he was a franchise type player in the NCAA tourney. I would be ecstatic if we landed Williams. The comparisons of Marion are accurate, but he's more intense and has better leadership qualities.

I am on the Derrick Williams train 110%

So there are only two posters that would be willing to choose DWill over him, I say Irving is equally more ready player than anyone else in this draft, he also displayed franchise point guard leader type that can lead the team during tourney too and the nba is guards-dominated nowaday, outstanding guards with outstanding skill sets are capable of turning the team around. Jose is always a defensive liability and Bayless will always lack true point guard instincts, also Irving's other ability has been displayed too such as his high motor throughout all the games he has played, he'll get some sneaky rebounds, move his feet well when playing defense, a good defensive weak-side helper, etc.

I don't expect the team will turn around into a playoff contender next year this quick if we get irving but if we're going to be a lottery draft next year again there will be tons of forward options to choose from, the SF depth is so great that there will be good players at bottom of the lottery too.

I'm on the Williams bandwagon too. I'm pretty sure he will be able to man the 3 in the NBA. There are many players that come out of the NCAA playing the 4 and end up being explosive guards.
Heres a pretty good mix on D. Will that highlights his strengths ( as a mix should )
Theres no audio on it so I'd suggest just throwing on your own song if you need music to watch it.

As long as he plays physical as a 3, he'll be fine. If Pierce can do it, so can Williams. He is the best talent in this draft IMO.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

I agree, however I would still pick Irving 1st, but I think Williams is the front runner for rookie of the year right now, I just don't see anyone who will be able to touch him in terms of offensive production. He seems like a really mature player who could step onto any team right now and produce.

2 of the first mock drafts if you type nba 2011 draft into google have us taking vesley at pick number 3.

its kyrie/walliams at 1 and 2

then vesley.

i guess he is 6"11 pf and very quick and strong for his body type. i just dont want another drea though.

My board:
Irving
Williams
Kanter
Barnes
Perry
Knight
Kemba
Jimmer

Montiejunas and Vesley and Val i have no clue where they would be since im not watching them

Irving
Williams
Kanter (pending the Horford comparisons are accurate)
Barnes

If we fall to fifth through the lottery, I think someone in front of us will take Perry Jones, therefore that's why hes not ranked in my list.

A former scout called Williams a Power 3. He was thinking of guys like Larry Johnson who had a good enough outside shot to play SF. That's also what James Johnson is, and he covers fine. Williams seems to have a higher BBIQ and a way better shooting stroke than JJ. I absolutely can see Williams as our future 3. Then in 2012, we grab a point guard.

I'm not going to lie, a 2011-2012 roster that features a starting lineup of...

Bayless
DeRozan
Williams
Davis
DeAndre Jordan (pipe dream, I know)

would be really exciting and probably one of the most explosive lineups in the league.

Irving or Williams is who we need. Barnes would be a decent third option.

My draft order is:

Irving
Barnes
Williams

I'm not too enamoured with anyone else in this draft at the moment. I think its imperative that we out tank Washington to grab the 3rd seed.

I can't remember seeing this many raptors improve their shooting. Whoever our shooting coaches are they deserve a raise. For that reason I like the idea of drafting whichever prospect would benefit the most from above-average shooting improvement. Maybe harrison barnes, since it sounds like what held him back the most was hitting easy shots. Standstill jumpers, open jumpers, three pointers. And with some above-average improvement in tougher shots, which he already has natural talent for, he might turn into an unstoppable scoring machine who also plays d

Harrison is an excellent shooter, he just lacks the creation ability at this point. I think if we miss out on Kyrie we need to be hell bent on getting DWill. The coaching staff can help him improve his range to the point where his creation ability is properly utilized as an NBA SF.

Then, imagine getting another top-10 by dealing someone like Bargnani and taking a guy like Kanter? :droop: SOMEONE PLAY THE "JIZZ IN MY PANTS" MUSIC!
