had a good chance this weekend to bury the RS starting off the season, this team needs to get consistent hitting, instead of relying on long balls

we need to take care of baltimore.. good thing rays play boston and the rays are 1-8, they may break out vs boston.. would love to see that..

Hey, give Josh Beckett some props. After being horrible last season, and preseason...he finally settled down and picked like Josh Beckett of old with the Red Sox DESPERATE for 1 series won. What did we learn about the Yankees, well straightening out Hughes is the top priority. Otherwise, I thought the Yanks played well despite not winning their third consecutive series.

It wouldn't shock me if Garcia takes Hughes' spot. It's not smart to throw Hughes out there with velocity issues because he can strain his arm or worse, tear something by over throwing.

Yeah... you win some and you lose some.. Beckett was nasty yesterday. The red sox were also due a series win, they're too good to have continued that horrid beginning to the season.

I'm also not paying attention to the slow beginning Jeter, Posada and Swisher have.. we're 9 games in... I'm not thinking of potential replacements til at least the end of April.

Day off today, that sucks.

pretty much typical beckett.. takes a year off, comes back to pitch better the next year..
look at his history since 2005 in florida

2005: 15-8
2006: 16-11
2007: 20-7
2008: 12-10
2009: 17-6
2010: 6-6

he is a good pitcher.. not really consistent from year to year.. and a bit overrated if you ask me. I think his arm is overused.. at 31 I think he may be on the downside, the nagging injuries over the years... he pitched great yesterday, but when I hear the ESPN announcers wax on poetically about this guy as if he has been roger clemens his whole career really irks me... plus his ERA over has been less than stellar...

Jeter will be fine. He's putting the ball in play, now he's just got to adjust to the timing of his body. Posada is a rotating DH. Funny no one bitched when he was smoking the Tigers.

Gotta stop analyzing individual games and look at stretches....Guys, it's a SIX MONTH SEASON. Nothing is won in April.

Hey, remember in 2009 when the Yanks started off slow and every one was freaking out? How'd that turn out?

Gotta give guys time to get into a groove...the wins will come.
