lol slowdown cowboy. Your right I've waited too long in times before and got burned but asking her out like right now out of nowhere is too spontaneous for this girl (like I said I rarely even flirt with her so that would be a enormous leap of faith). I definitely feel like the clock is ticking and I'll have to make a decision soon (hence why I turned to you guys), but now's not the time. Especially when tonight we just talked about taking possible classes together for next semester.

What makes you think that now is not the time. The longer you take the less likely it gets serious.

IMO, the friend zone is fine as long as you know that you're never going to want to advance that relationship with the friend. Like other people have said though, once you're in that zone and you realized you made a mistake, it's hard to get out of it without screwing things up. If things do get screwed up because one person made a move, it gets awkward.

@can of peas, thanks for the info. 2010, if you read this - no disrespect intended lol.

 harsh Combo, I was referring to the awkwardness of a conversation going like "great so we're taking x amount of classes together, let's go register now..... oh by the way I want you to go out with me." If I am going to make this move I need to meticulously move out of the "friend zone" before asking her out. Asking her out without her having any clue I may feel this way about her seems foolish, no? I plan on making a move soon (within a few weeks possibly) but just not at this very moment as you suggested.

IMHO Friend the "Friend Zone" is something that should be avoided as soon as possible. Like previous posters mentioned most of the time when you befriend someone for a decent amount of time they won't ever be interested in taking that relationship to the next level. The reason why most girls wont be interested is because, for the most part, girls want a guy who is confident in what they want. Waiting six months to a year doesn't really scream confidence.

It's best to avoid being friendly and developing a frienship unless it's a romantic friendship.

Now don't get me wrong not every time you catch feelings for a girl while friends will the girl not catch them back. Very rarely though will a girl actually fall back in love with you. There are clear signs though to tell whether or not the girl is interested in a higher relationship.

This story is kind of related to my earlier message but it's kind of off topic so it fits perfectly in this thread.

I met this girl at school who was pretty cute she had a lot of nice features. At the time i was single and i was looking for a girlfriend. I started to get to know her and she seemed interested in me also (but she only seemed interested in me in a friendly way). So the more i got to know her the more i started to like her but get this, someone else in my class told me she had a boyfriend overseas. At the time I didnt realize the obvious sign and i ended up finding a different girl n me and her started going out. Fast forward a year and 2 months later me and the second girl are still going out and we break up for a week. (Through out this whole time i still talked to the first girl regularly and she was cool with me and my girl.) I end up talking to the first girl and she actually told me that she had feelings for me ever since we first met a year ago, and truthfully i had feelings for her to. So during that week me and the first girl planned on hooking up together but in the end i ended up messing it up by saying a couple of thingsg i shoulndt have said  . I'm still going out with the second girl.

I was trying to get to the point that sometimes the girl that befriends you may actually like you but this ended up being just some random story that i felt like sharing and how i failed friends with benefits 101  .

P.S. Dont get me wrong my girl now is fine, but hey two is better than one  .

Jeff Buckley getting the biopic treatment.

A new film is set to tackle the tragically short, enigmatic life of singer/songwriter Jeff Buckley. Hallelujah.

Deadline reports that Jake Scott, music video director and helmer of the hit "Welcome to the Rileys," has signed on to direct the Buckley biopic, with the mid-90's rocker's song rights purchased as part of an all-encompassing package

Juliano Mer-Khamis Dead: 'Miral' Actor Shot And Killed In West Bank

Juliano Mer-Khamis, a well-known director, activist, and star of Julian Schnabel's new film, "Miral," was shot and killed on Monday in the West Bank city of Jenin.

The Jerusalem Post reported that a masked assailant approached Mer-Khamis outside the entrance to the controversial Freedom Theater, a collective Mer-Khamis founded himself, and shot him five times at close range.

Mer-Khamis was raised by a Jewish Israeli mother, Arna Mer, and a Palestinian Christian father, Saliba Khamis, one of the former heads of the Israeli Communist Party in the 1950s. Straddling a complicated political line for his entire career, Mer-Khamis always focused on controversial work.

Palestinian Authority officials have made several arrests, but no group has claimed responsibility for the shooting. One of those arrests is a prominent Hamas operative.

Mer-Khamis's first film was The Little Drummer Girl, a 1984 adaptation of a John Le Carre thriller about the Israeli- Palestinian conflict. He also appeared in many films from leading Israeli filmmakers over the years.

Mer-Khamis is survived by his wife, who is pregnant with twins, a daughter and a son, who was reportedly also with him at the time of the shooting.

I've never seen any of his films, but this is sad. he seemed like a wonderful man who tried to make a world a better place. I'm gonna try to check out "Miral".

May you rest in peace, Juliano.

when nba collects tech fines and donates to charity, do players themselves have right to claim an itemized deduction for the amount of $$$ they paid for techs that year? if they can, do they claim a percentage of total fines or dollar for dollar

I don't think the players get any deductions. They pay the full fine to the NBA and then THEY donate it to the charity. It's win-win for the NBA.

I highly doubt the player can claim a tax exemption for it. It will lower their overall salary (so they will pay less tax), however.

In my eyes the payment counts as a fine for the player (and thus lower their salary), and the NBA will claim the payment as a charitable donation, lowering their tax burden, as the NBA are the ones who actually make the payment to charity.

§ 170. Charitable, etc., contributions and gifts

i found this as a good source that states, individuals have right to deduct 50 percent of contributions but where im stuck is that its the NBA that makes contribution from players fines

oh right but then it is the ordinary and necessary expence by players stated by §162(a)
