_____19-21 Home / 5-5 last 10 ______________________ 23-17 Road / 5-5 Last 10

This game provides some hope for Wizards' board tank commanders.

Coming off of a 23-point loss to Miami on Sunday, the Cs come to town on the tail end of a back-to-back still hungry for 2nd in the East. They're a game behind the Heat and will probably need to win out to have a chance.

YOUR Washington Wizards have been playing decently lately, cashing in bunches of ping pong balls in the process.

The Wizards' injury woes have already been well-documented. Out are F Rashard Lewis, F Josh Howard, G/F Nick Young, F Trevor Booker, and C Hamidy N'Daiye. In their place have come D-Leaguers G Mustafa Shakur, G/F Othyus Jeffers; and F Larry Owens to inject hunger and energy. Add that to the Wizards' rookie starting backcourt of G John Wall and G Jordan Crawford -- energy has been in great evidence lately.

That being said, enthusiasm and energy doesn't always trump raw talent. The Wiz kids will be up against the big three of KG, Ray Allen, and Paul Pierce. And the description of a "Big Three" doesn't do justice to Cs starting PG Rajon Rondo.

This marks the last game at home this season for YOUR Washington Wizards. The Wiz close out the season at Cleveland on Wednesday night.

I say against Boston, F tanking! :onfire:

Forgive the language and my sig--I'm trying to be real but not profane at the same time.

Boston is a team that always gives off attitude. Garnett likes to stare down folks. Their players have had an air of superiority for too long IMO. I don't like the Celtics. I want the young Wizards to kick their butts!

I want the Wizards to lay the smack down on Boston and to TOTALLY demoralize that team as it limps into the playoffs.

Specifically, I want Blatche to have a career game on Garnett. (Flip would have to deal with it.) I want McGee to dunk on Krstic so often that he thinks about leaving the NBA and playing in Europe. This game, let Wall really get off on Rondo. He's not the player Rondo is yet but this is a big time opportunity for Wall to go right at him and get the better of him. They played fairly evenly in Boston. I want this to be the game that makes Doc Rivers decide in his mind that after this season would be a great time for him to bolt, and for him to go watch his kid play one year at Duke. There are many reasons I would like to see a win. Doc is great but that trade killed the Celtics. They're going no where with the old and broken O'Neals anyway. Green is kind of soft IMO. It's time for the Wizards to beat the Cs again. (I still remember the Shakur debut game).

Most of all, this game can be a great balm for having taking lumps all year. This can crystallize the confidence of many people, including Flip Saunders, that this team doesn't totally suck. Boston still has to play for a better record than Miami and to get off the deck from the beat down against the Heat. Beating the Cs is a statement game that is more important than tanking IMO.

Tanking increases the odds and it would be great to finish bottom three. HOWEVER, I feel like Washington can still win the lottery from fourth. If they tie for fourth worse record with TOR they go to a coin flip IIRC.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

Not interested in MORAL victories when half the players that are contributing to the win may not be on this team next year.

TANK.

I gotta feeling the Wiz might win this one. Boston is a game behind Miami for the 2-seed, but Miami's two remaining games are @ATL and @TOR. They're going to win out. Boston knows they're stuck at the 3-seed. Besides, being a 3-seed and facing New York is probably better than being a 2-seed and facing Philly.

So basically, Boston's has no real motivation to win and they're on a back-to-back. If the Wizards fight hard early on, Boston will probably just capitulate and rest their starters.

I curious that you said that. I like Philly and Collins has done a marvelous
job for them this year. Holiday is showing why maybe it wasn't so bad
that they passed on Ty Lawson (who is pretty darn good himself).

But I think NY has a better chance of advancing against the Heat than Philly does.

Remember, if we win and the HEAT wins, Boston is basically eliminated from the 2-seed and Raps probably face the Heat in the finale without the big three. They just about can't help but win that.

Toronto's out to a nice 11 point lead early on the road against the Bucks. No Bogut.
