Has there been any word yet on how long he might be out?

He doesn't have to look down when he lands but he needs to know where the players surrounding him are. If a guy is two inches to your right, chances are, his feet are right underneath his shoulder and that's an area you don't want to put your foot at. Accidents happen but it happens way too often to this guy to still be considered accident.

I got warned for talking about their intelligence... So I'm left to say that they probably never competed at any high level sport in their lifes.

Seriously people, just stop.

he's a 300lbs+ 7'1+ genetic freak playing high level basketball. Injuries are going to happen but the dude is just UNLUCKY.

Once you get your first knee surgery others will follow, that's a simple concept in high level sports..

and he got plenty of injuries from people falling on his legs...

If he went to Judo as a Kid to learn how to roll/fall it would make it better but last night he avoided something serious by just flopping to the ground and falling on his 'healthy' leg instead of trying to stay on his feet, which is our first instinct.

Bynum has bone bruise but not any serious injury -- and projected by Lakers to be ready for playoff opener.

That's great news. I had a really bad hyper-extension in high school that put me on crutches for about two weeks, even though I was able to walk away just after it happened.

it's not about literally "looking" down, but the concept is correct (maybe "sensing" down is a more accurate description of what bynum is incapable of doing. anyone who has every played a sport knows that feeling when you leave your feet and come down on top of someone else's foot. most ATHLETES get that sensation and IMMEDIATELY shift their weight off that vulnerable foot/knee/leg and either collapse properly to the floor or shift the weight to the other leg as a means to prevent injury.

bynum is obviously incapable of doing this. for whatever reason, (maybe he didnt play sports during his developmental years?), he simply does not have that 6th sense/anticipation that the majority of athletes do about dangerous lower body encounters. its the same for people rolling into your legs, you cant prevent it, but you can anticipate it and properly defend yourself, well at least most people can.

this is precisely why we should trade him before his 6th consecutive, inevitable, or as some of you might say "freak accident" happens. after the next one his value will be zero.

Bynum just can't win with some of you Laker fans, regardless of what he does.

I know this sounds crazy but I wish he could of help beat up on the Kings tonight.
The way Demarcus Cousins went off on him last time at Staples resulting in a loss was horrible.

It's all good, the main thing is that Drew is gonna be okay in time for the playoffs. :D :D :D
Drew's gonna have a lot of time in the future to get revenge on Demarcus.
Right now he's got bigger fishes to fry.

can you imagine a center that bangs in the paint having to look down to notice everyone's legs? lol

A fearless me would be a better center than him. seriously.

Unless he developed a jumper and became the new bargnani, no rebound, no defense, just jump shots...

Great news, and I hope that he doesn't get into a slump because of this close call.
