I really want to know why we didn't sign/play him during the regular season. It's obvious that Point Guard play was a huge liability during nearly the ENTIRE season. We should have at least given him a try over Blake or Brown during when we were struggling.

I know it was just one game but from what I saw he is a much smarter and efficient player than Shannon Brown. Yea he wont give you the highlight real Brown does but he won't make the bonehead mistakes either.

For those of you who didn't watch him during Summer League, he's a pretty savvy player as you all saw last night. Doesn't force things (Shannon) but he isn't afraid to shoot either. IIRC he's been the D-League's leading scorer this season and last night Sacramento opted to sag off of him which is what allowed him to put up some quick points. He may be facing NBA defenders now but not being guarded at all in the NBA is the same as not being guarded at all in the D-League and he definitely capitalized. His defense is ok but nothing spectacular but aside from him blowing his first defensive assignment of the night he did all right. As others have said, I'm curious to know why the Lakers didn't sign him after they dealt Vujacic in the salary dump. Having a 5th guard is very important just in case and he's definitely worth his minimum contract as backcourt insurance.
As an added benefit, the presence of Johnson and his being allowed to stay out on the floor while Brown got yanked last night seems like it lit a bit of a fire under Shannon's ass. Trey is the new Sasha in that Shannon seems to need some competition beside him to remind Brown that he's still expendable.
