Phil Jackson and Lakers fined 75K each for CBA talk

Post#1 » by dockingsched » Thu Apr 14, 2011 6:03 pm

apparently the fine is for comments after the portland game where phil said next season might be wiped out.

The NBA has fined Phil Jackson $75,000 for comments on the collective bargaining agreement, and $75K to the Lakers too, league source says.

Dude...its like they put every single comment on blast because we are the Los Angeles Lakers. Man David Stern is trying REAL HARD trying to dethrone us.

Got news for ya Stern! The only way to dethrone a champion is by beating them not giving out excessive fines you douche!

dam Stern is straigh robbing the lakers....the fine was already excessive and they want to punish the Lakers too for comments that are out of their control? I mean are the Lakers suppose to tell Jackson what he can and can't talk bout? All he said was his retirement was due in part to the impending lockout and you get 75k fine?

I read what Phil said over and do not understand why he was fined at all. He didn't say a lockout is definitely going to happen but rather a lot of people believe it is inevitable. What part of that statement is not the truth? I am guess and hoping that NBA is having a major deficit that they are working on fixing through excessive fines for everyone.

He got the Mafia treatment and came up missing for awhile. He's not going to be able to punk PJax like he did Ron Jeremy.

If Jackson had said a potential lockout would be gay, would that have been a $175K fine?

Look at it this way, all we did was pay our dues for some calls from the refs. Yeah 250K should cover that. Since everybody thinks the league "hands" us everything, tell me what other team this year got docked 250K in 2 days ?

Good work Stern, you just officially pissed us off. Have fun picking up the wreckage we're about to scatter across the NBA landscape.

Well look at the bright side, for once this is something the Lakers don't have to pay luxury tax on.

I feel like there is way more to this story than what we are led to believe. $75,000 fine for talking about retiring and a more than likely lock out? Seems extremely excessive for something everyone is focused on.

He said the words "lock out." Reports are the League Office is flipping out that fans *gasp* wouldn't like a lock out to happen!
