Yup. Honestly I was cheering for Jimmer and BYU in the tourney. I surprised myself, really. I normally hate BYU with "every fiber of my being." There have been many times in the past where I've said: "logically, it makes sense to cheer for BYU here, it makes the MWC look better" and then the game started and I was cheering for them to fail.

That didn't happen here; I cheered for Jimmer and the Fredettes up until the end (which is funny because there was no conference-boosting angle any more).

But with such bandwagon-jumping comes a degree of scrutiny and skepticism that a lot of lifelong fans have long ago suppressed.

So why stop cheering for him now? The Jazz aren't going to draft him because they are most likely going to get a guard with the first pick. I just hope he does well wherever he goes, but it's silly to think that he is going to fail just because you don't want the Jazz to pick him and because his predecessors failed most of the time. Guess I just don't understand that logic. I wanted Bogut to do well because he seemed like a chill dude that was an outstanding baller. He hasn't lived up to expectations, but he has been good, and I like seeing him do well. I also just want the Jazz to pick up someone who can make more than 1 trey a game, and I don't think there are many guys in the draft capable of doing that, but he is.

Word is, South Beach is ecstatic that they
won't be seeing Millsaps talents again this season...

I don't want Jimmer to fail (for the record, I have no ties whatsoever to the Utes or to BYU), but I'm skeptical of his potential. I think he'll stick around in the league, but will never be worth much. Eddie House is a pretty decent comparison.

I liked Jimmer at BYU but there are guys that are just good college players and I don't really care for what they do at the next level. That is the case here. Not saying he will suck in the NBA, just I don't think he will be anything special.
