He's got room to improve, for sure, but he's probably our best defender already.

His man defense is very good, could be excellent in a couple of years, just ask Kobe. His help defense is not bad. His transition D is pretty good too. He is a lot quicker than most people thought he would be, has good size, and doesn't get beat off the dribble much. He stays in front of his man and frustrates them, has a good knack for knowing where to put his hands up to frustrate shots and get the occasional block. Very solid defender. Also an OK rebounder for a 2, but will get better with minutes.

I want to see his FT% up in the mid 80s next year myself. Make himself a guy that can close games.
