I think some of the people here like Prince, I don't personally.
We still want to see what Whiteside can do and would like to keep him. He is probably better than anything in the second round this upcoming draft...

The Kings look at Whiteside as a long term project and already signed him to a multi-year deal. They were also interested in taking him as high as 5 so....

Highly unlikely the Kings would do that unless they needed the $$$ to sign a 3rd superstar or something crazy like that.

Why on earth would the team want McGrady? Not only is he too old and broken to help this team to the playoffs, but whatever he still can do conflicts with what Evans and Thornton do.

In a thread on the trade board, Jazz fans were willing to do
#5 & Whiteside
for
#12 & Millsap

I don't see Detroit willing or able to give anywhere near that kind of value for Whiteside.
There's really not much on the Detroit roster that I would target in a trade, and those I would target are ones I don't see the Pistons being willing to give up.
Of all the preposterous assumptions of humanity over humanity, nothing exceeds most of the criticisms made on the habits of the poor by the well-housed, well-warmed, and well-fed.

How about Pistons' first round pick(7th overall) and Jason Maxiell for Whiteside and their second round pick?

Makes more sense?

I doubt the truth behind the rumors of Whiteside at 5. Don't you think they would play him at least a little bit then? Or trade for a late 1st rounder? And nobody else had him in their top 30? Doesn't really sound to plausible.

Jonas Jerebko, if he ever get to what he was is an interesting prospect in a Whiteside trade.

Out of all of the main players in the draft, Cousins, Whiteside and Monroe were the only ones to get second workouts, and Whiteside's workouts against Monroe went very well. I'm not going to say we would have picked him over Monroe, had Cousins been taken. I don't think we can know that. But I do know that he was being considered, and I also know that management told him they thought he could end up being the best of the bunch.

They also told him they didn't think he'd be ready for a couple of years. Everybody knew going in that he was a project. Along with this, the Kings had made the trade for Landry the previous deadline, and Dalembert before the draft, and on top of all of that, drafted Cousins--oh, and still had Jason Thompson.

So basically, before Landry was traded, there was just no space for a project to play. Guys that are currently totally ready for rotation minutes (most notably JT at the time) weren't even getting consistent minutes. And by the time Landry was traded, Hassan was out for the year.

But I do believe management still thinks extremely highly of him and wouldn't even consider any of the deals proposed in this thread.

Trading Whiteside for the 33rd pick would be pure idiotcy we drafted him last season in roughly the same spot so why take this years 33rd for him ? Thats dumb !
If I were trading Whiteside I would either package him with another player for a better player at a position of need or trade him for a future 1st round pick .

If not I hold onto him and develop him .

Quite a change of tune. That's something we might consider, I'd think. It would depend on how high we are on players available at 7.

I can't imagine Detroit would do it though.

Kings would likely do the deal . I doubt Detroit would ever offer that deal though .
