If that is true, how the heck can we buy him out for $4 million? Didn't we trade for him?

Isn't it likely that the Suns just waive VC? I believe Orlando sent 3 mil over as well so that VC's partial guarantee isn't so bad. I doubt any team is gonna pull off a straight up salary dump unless the Suns send both some money and draft picks.

I'm too lazy to check the numbers but how much flexibility does that give the Suns with 18 mil off the books?

Sadly, Kerrsed is right - we'll have the MLE, if it still exists, and about $5mil to spend

Grab Chuck Hayes for 5 million, and our work this offseason is done. Everyone can go and fish in Alaska for the next 3 months or something.

If Hayes can be got for $5mil, do it and be very happy - we'd still need to address post scoring and a shooting guard, but I think Childress and Gortat could be the answer to the first , and the draft or a trade might silve the latter

We can address those issues you pointed out through the draft. I think the most likely scenario is we take a SG. Someone like Alec Burks to address our shooting guard issues.

Pietrus is an expiring right? Why dont we call up Milwaukee and see if they want to give us Drew Gooden? The Bucks want/need cap flexibility and Pietrus' expiring would give them that. I'm not over the moon about Gooden's contract though, so we will probably ask for a pick as well.

Anybody know when Pietrus has to pick up his option? June 30th? He is sure to pick it up as he is a borderline LLE guy at best.

I think, next season Carter will stay as a Sun. Nobody in the NBA wants him, Suns wiil buy him out & sign for a vet's minimum...

I wouldn't want him back at any cost.

Here's confirmation of what some are saying. Looks like non-playoff teams can make trades whenever they want.

I can't see us bringing him back even if we can get him on the vet min. I could see the Bulls offering him something like the LLE, if that still exists in the new CBA.

I see him signing with DAL, CHI, OKC or LAL.

If Suns medical staff says: next season VC will run, jump & hustle - he'll be waived & resigned for vet's minimum. No doubt for this. He's VINCE CARTER. THIS Vince Carter.

Medical say: VC knees are rubble - he's done. Career's over.

In Toronto he may go overboard a little bit and put about 20% heart. But that is the only exception.
